Told you guys to hold onto your dvds

The streaming was too good to be true and now they put ads on everything while charging $60+ worth of various platforms and don't even provide good stuff to choose from.

This. I only buy blu rays if I genuinely enjoyed a movie that I saw for free. I'm not paying for a fricking mystery box. Make something good and if I like it, I will buy it. Literally just start torrenting. Torrent with your friends, swap movies and series, set up Jellyfin and eventually you'll have a library so vast you'll look at a streaming service and wonder why people ever paid monthly to have access to so little.

The streaming was too good to be true and now they put ads on everything while charging $60+ worth of various platforms and don't even provide good stuff to choose from.

If torrenting is too dangerous, used DVDs/blurays are another great way to build a media library. Rent movies from the (real) library, go to Half Price Books or other stores like it where they have used media. Piracy is of course cheaper, but there is literally zero risk in buying physical media used, ripping it, and reselling it.

Conservatives have been trying to defund libraries since forever, and conservatives are the reason we don't have loony bins anymore. You can't seriously look at conservative rhetoric for the past 40 years, defund this, get rid of public services left and right, and blame the lack of library funding on liberals. Wake up and smell the roses, conservatives destroy everything that's good about America.

        >If torrenting is too dangerous
It isn't. In nearly 20 years of torrenting across five different addresses, I only got 1 (one) notice from my ISP. They don't even drag people to court anymore unless it's proven you're running a server.
        >Piracy is of course cheaper, but there is literally zero risk in buying physical media used, ripping it, and reselling it.
Pirating is free from the get go and less time consuming.

Do you not know you can buy used things on the internet

Less immediate than torrenting or even going to a brick and mortar store.

        >Is it legal
        No.
        >Is it moral
Yes. Intellectual property can not be owned. You can not kwn ideas in someone else's head. You can not own certain configurations of materials, and prevent others from configuring their materials in the same manner. You can not own how pixels are displayed on a screen, and you can not BAN others from arranging pixels on their screen in the same way as you. You can not own a file on a computer.
        Copying is not theft. Simple

At one point it was dirt cheap to get Netflix and they had every fricking movie imaginable before all the israelite businesses took their own IPs to their own streaming services. It was worth the few dollars a month to be able to conveniently find some kino to watch with no ads. That is no longer the case when it would cost $100+ a month to have access to the same volume of titles with no ads, spread across 10+ streaming networks.

I was doing some house chores yesterday and turned on normal broadcast HBO just for some background noise, dark night was on. They absolutely butchered it for no reason. There are no adverts, no mpaa rating issues, no time constraints but it was missing many scenes and parts of scenes that make the film what it is. There were all things that weren’t ’necessary’, some from the joker interrogation, the bus chase where he says rack ‘em up was there but the part where heath says “he missed!” but then sees the street lights getting pulled down and corrects himself something something “you didn’t miss, did you” was all fricked up and the latter part was just gone. When joker was hanging upside down laughing after Batman saves him was cut out, just skipped to the cops showing up.
I really don’t know what the motive behind this was, but it completely wrecked the film. All the nuance was gone and it was just ‘here’s the events that transpired’.
