Place your bets on how long is he going to be an x-men editor - I think it's one year max. Everything he announced has the DOA feel, including Uncanny X-Men

I don't know but he the classic hypertensive red faced alcohlic look complete with stained smokers teeth. If he's not a chain smoking drunk I'd be surprised. And what the frick is that gross stain above the badge?
It depends
If the line does really well, then maybe two years at a minimum
If it is DOA as you claim then definitely one year.
I can't help but wonder if this reassignment was some sort of punishment or something since he's talked about in the past how he wasn't really interested in editing the X-Men
Jordan White stayed for 6 years fyi
white brought hickman. whatever you think about krakoa, it was something. brevoort's line-up doesn't even provoke any discussion
Hickman came a year later, White started by X-Men Gold(the wedding happened under him)
The point still stands. Also, Gold had a more interesting premise than Uncanny
>brevoort's line-up doesn't even provoke any discussion
There have been multiple threads seething about it, so Tom's mission was accomplished.
Angry people don't buy comics. They'll just hateread on readcomiconline or do a classical byrnesteal.
After a certain point hate gives to apathy. This is gonna sound crazy to the modern twitter generation but the people who sound mad online really aren't that mad on the other end of their keyboards. We might get into a deep thread now and again but that's really not the monumental effort that it sounds like to some people. It takes zero effort to actually b***h post on some Narnian Stable Building board. .
That's a meaningless victory
You have to think about what happened during those 6 years
2018: White starts editing the X-line, and Marvel only just starts giving a shit about the X-line again because Disney bought out Fox
2019: Hickman's run begins and the sales are better than they were for X-titles in the 2010s
2020: COVID and lockdowns happen and things get messed up across the industry for a lot of reasons
2021: Hickman's departure from the X-titles is announced, meanwhile controversy over X-Men Green and other things
2022: Hickman's last involvement with the X-titles is in January, more complaining about the X-line happens.
2023: Marvel decides to make Brevoort the editor of the X-line around late July or early August, which immediately torpedoed whatever direction Jordan D White wanted to go in (remember the SDCC "New X-Men" announcement last year?)
>(remember the SDCC "New X-Men" announcement last year?)
yeah it was supposed to be more AoA tier, as if, what if AoA happened in 616
Yeah the context is good, which is why one could think that Brevoort was supposed to continue the high profile of x-books that hickman started, but judging from the announcements, it seems like Brevoort is not really interested in the job. You can see that the books were pitched by people who have no fricks given about the line (nor quality)
>continue the high profile of x-books that hickman started
Lol, lmao. Hickman can't continue the 'high profile' after the first a few months of hype himself
I assure you that year from now, nobody will talk about brevoort era, except "why this era was such a nothingburger. Hate krakoa, but at least people want to talk about it and discuss. You have people who hate it, and people who defend it. This? This is milquetoast at best
And people already stopped talking about Krakoa lmao
Yeah totally, only yesterday we had a 500+ replies thread about krakoa, and also there is still a storytime in the catalog of this week's books
Ah yes...the precious 200 replies in the storytime thread that's totally about Krakoa, and the bump-limited arguing against each other thread...such a failure that Marvel had to urgently intervene the whole line, this is just pathetic now
Whatever point you tried to make, it doesn't even make sense
What about you actually looking at the comics under White?
He had the shittiest books, shittiest writers, shittiest ideas the X-Men ever had in his 6 years that made Austen look better
X-Men disasembled started okay. It was rosenberg that shat the bed
Can you shit the bed when the bed itself is made of shit?
>He had the shittiest books, shittiest writers, shittiest ideas the X-Men ever had in his 6 years that made Austen look better
Anon, had you seen the upcoming line-up? You haven't seen everything yet, true believer
You keep saying "line-up" as if it is the quality of the comics, I'm talking about how shit your books are by its content, White
Anon, I'm talking about brevoort
Brevoort's X-books literally haven't been out yet and they can't tell more about it because the current era hasn't ended, judging it's quality by "line-up" is peak moronation
what are you talking about? we already know the majority of them - the premise, the writers, artists. Have you been under the rock for the past 2 months? we only don't know about X-Factor and Storm
>the premise, the writers, artists
And that's the "line-up", not the content or quality of the story
Ah yeah, My bad, the guy who wrote mosaic will surely make a wonderful X-Force. Of course, it looks very "promising"
For me, it's blacked Jean
Eh.. Brevoort's the king of tripling down on bullshit that fans hate. Even if sales crater he's probably safe purely because he'll push whatever agenda that TPTB want pushed.
The premise of "mutants are hated now more than ever" is what kills any hype IMO
He looks different than I would have pictured. Yet he looks exactly like the kind of person who would say the stupid shit he does
that's an old photo, he gained fat since then
He got fatter? For some reason I always figure these guys looking more Jim Shooter like. I don't know why.
Whatever the reason, it's important to know the truth. Brevoort is literally the epitome of "go be fat somewhere else"
Over 27 years. At least as long as he was Avengers editor.
Reminder that Brevoort hated the Claremont run and crowed on his formspring about how great for the X-books it was that Claremont left.
Claremont had been on the title for 16 years, and he wasn't as good as he used to be, the guy needed a rest. The first time he returned to the books he was awful. His second return was just kinda meh.
Go back to bed, Brevoort.
>anon tries to reason with a cult
less than one year.
He looks drunk.
Who cares?
You do since you posted in the thread
I don't.
You do since you posted in the thread twice
But I really don't.
You don't believe me, but I'm serious, I don't.
>DOA
This is at least the third thread you’ve started shitting on the new X-Men launch it feels personal at this point did Brevoort frick your woman or something, OP?
It makes them feel savvy, like they're "in the know," when it's quite the opposite.
>Hurr durr, he'll be gone by the end of the freakin' year.
Yeah for sure, that's how it works. Marvel's gonna fire their most knowledgable, capable, oldest editor bc you'll boycott the X-Books for being woke or something.
