What, will they cast Zendaya as Kida, too?

If they do a live action Atlantis, I 100% expect them to frick up Kida & Audrey.

This is one of the few live-action remakes of Disney Animated films I can get behind. Atlantis would probably be far more popular released today in live action.

Doja Cat dressed up like Kida? That's her? Sign her up already and use her cosplay for marketing.

my friend, if you've ever been near casting call for such a character, you'll find tenths of women that look that great and actually have acting skills.
There's just too many artists in the world.

Christina Hendricks is totally fake. Fake hair, fake breasts.

          blergh. Scarjo.

Disney/Chapek burned that bridge. My suggestion is Charlize Theron. They can even market how she's African-America too.

Easily a contender. She did a great job playing a b***h (the title role) in I, Tonya.

Hope they give Helga a redemption.

Can't we keep some women villains? Disney kind of redeemed the Queen of Hearts, Maleficent, and Cruella and I wouldn't be surprised if Melissa McCarthy as Ursula will get sympathy for other mermaids being fatphobic.

That was a mistake, they should reopen it and make a satisfying product that will be enjoyed for decades rather than CGI shit and flash animated lesbian shows

          Anonymous

Disney is a business, not a charity.
They closed down that studio because their hand drawn animation wasn't making a profit compared to what Pixar was raking in with 'CGI shit' that audiences enjoyed like Incredibles, Ratatouille, Monsters Inc, Cars etc etc

I don't really have a problem with the race swaps tbh, but it goes irk me when they say it's such a brave and powerful statement to race swap characters and then cry racism if they adapt a white person into a role that was originally held by a minority. They want to have their cake and eat it too.

                Anonymous

The demographics of Hollywood have changed. Most 20th century characters are white, more white than today. To reflect an updated world, more roles are casted with non-white people.

There are already much fewer roles that belong to Black/brown/Asian people by default, so they don't want those roles lost.

Ideally, we'd live in a world where all roles are colorblind.

Atlantis cast is already pretty diverse with Joshua Sweet and Audrey plus all the Atlanteans. It's cool if Kida is a Black lady.

Man I cant wait for this to flop horribly. Alantis is gonna need some serious special effects to even work and I have no doubt in my mind they will use cheap cgi for everything just like in the new pinnichio film.
