Haven't seen it, but looks pretentious.
by subtlety i presume you mean watching the paint dry ?
>thinks the original is better
Don't forget
>Remove the Grimm's fairytale atmosphere
>remove the italian bullshit
Good.
It was fricking shit. I like Suspira and there are some fantastic things about it but I've always viewed it as a movie with potential that could be a lot better. This film does not tap into that potential. It's so much worse on every level, I guess other than not having disorientating spaghetti western tier dubbing.
Also keep in mind that director and writer (both gays) said they tried to avoid the "male gaze", which explains how utterly clumsy the movie looks and how the pretty female cast is wasted
>here's a shot that doesn't linger on a 18 year old's cameltoe
>what the frick is wrong the gays???
If you have to ask you'll never know
I know Italians and French people were notoriously pedo-friendly in the 70s.
As were/are Americans in practice. Compare statistics and keep in mind nobody ever forced to watch European movies w/ sex scenes. You sought them out
Lmao even of that was their intention, Dakota was stunning and has never looked better.
It's a completely different film and it was just as a good as the original, but in a completely different way.
Also
>add tons of shitty cgi head explosions for your climax
they needed that budget money to turn tilda swinton into an old man for absolutely no fricking reason
This movie fricking sucked. The old guy subplot was boring and pointless. I have no idea what people like about this
>The old guy subplot was boring and pointless
You have no soul.
>*remove the German Expressionist technicolor color pallete, desaturating everything*
That’s 80% of all movies in the last 15 years
>make a film about witches with vague political undertones
>in the last five minutes give the main character a speech about nazis and social justice
>that's your remake
thank you, millennials. very cool. never do it again, please.
>i hate movies that make me think
I think you'd have a better time watching the MCU movies.
Suspiria does not "make you think." It is a thematically devoid film that dumps a ton of shit on you at the end and pretends that the meaning was there all along when it isn't. The idea that the film is about nazism or social justice is as big of an ass pull as the twist that the main character was Mother Suspiriorum all along. No hints. No foreshadowing. No gradual reveal. Just oops-- look at that-- there it is! Bet you didn't see it coming! Because we never gave you any clues in the first place! Great use of the visual medium-- just sit the characters down and talk about the meaning of the film. Why use visuals when you can just info dump?
It's a dumb fricking film. The original is better simply because it doesn't contain any of the pretension of the remake.
>Suspiria does not "make you think."
>posts anime girl
lol
>No hints
>his autistic ass failed to get the hints of Suspiria
Lmao go back to watching weebshit.
>rewatch the first one
>comfy
>try to rewatch the remake
>first scene is Tilda pretending to be an old man while Chloe is pretending to be an actress
>dropped
They are both solid movies, the original is slightly better.
Why even try to replicate the perfection in the original? Luca was absolutely right to go the other way until the explosion of red in the ending. The story is changed too but it's easier to whine about muh colours because that's what you read online. The 70s inspired direction goes a long way in this one. The "deaths" are not just better, they are fricking amazing. Also, the music is equally as great as the Goblin score. You don't have to hate it in order to prove you appreciate the original.
>cast a Fifty Shades of Grey bawd
I genuinely hate how drab and colorless movies look nowadays. I don't know if it's shitty color correction or a conscious decision by moronic millenial directors who think "dull and devoid of color = realistic and dramatic" but I'm sick of looking at it.
Suspiria remake was the last straw.
The point is to demoralize you.
Oh, frick off.
gays.
This grey/brown and some blue color palette thing has been going on at least 15 years now and i hate it.
Yes, women are very stupid creatures who only understand sex.
