There's no fricking way that's a 30 and 27yo man respectively, especially James he look tops in his forties.

Clarkson and May look 50-60 at least in the top image, Hammond looks to be in his early 40s.

On the other hand they haven't aged that much in 34 years, guess there was really not much to age at that point.

      wtf happened to Germany?

The so-called war in Ukraine was really an American war on Germany first and foremost.

low birth rates. everything else is just a consequence of that. they tried to fix it with migration - and it worked in the 90s and early 00s when most migrants came from slavic shitholes, italy, and even the more whiteish parts of turkey. but now they've hoovered those places dry and they went for browns - with predictable results. shutting down their nuclear and coal powerplants was the final nail in the coffin. ukraine and propping up spain and greece are just a drop in the bucket compared to that.

Much as I would like to send you off to watch fricking Noel Edmund enthusing about boot space and insurance premiums it is somewhat opposite to Dr Who, the OG was tedious in the extreme.

Its also, frankly, a bad idea to watch too much of it, it becomes obvious how much of it is scripted acting. I genuinely believe James May that he fricking hates the others, he doesn't even like cars in real life (he does however really, really like ballet).

For those of you who are incredibly gullible I will also add I remember hearing about Clarkson (who just likes money) pitching Clarkson's Farm as early as 2008ish. If you want to believe it was something he spontaneously did I suppose I can't stop you.

watch the specials, they are amazing. honestly i love every episode and find it to be the ultimate comfy TV show, but i won't tell you to go back and watch car reviews from the 90s. the specials are the episodes where they travel to different countries, saddle themselves with shitbox vehicles and then see how far they can make it across said country in said shitboxes, funny stuff. even the grand tour specials are fun, the one where they cross Laos and Vietnam via boat and make it to the ocean was quite good for a non-car Top Gear ep

      Anonymous

Start with the Specials - Vietnam is probably the best one.
If you liked those, then move on to Top Gear episodes, starting from the season where James May joins Clarkson and Hammond.
      Then the first Clarkson-run series.
Then give anything else a try.

      Anonymous

yes but not all of it. basically anything past like series 20 is dog shit. everything before series 5 is a bit weird and flat. but then you have this juicy brilliant golden period of about 8-10 series in the middle
you've got two choices really, jump into the specials or bed yourself in slowly. i'd probably recommend starting out with either the cheap car challenge episodes (e.g. buy a porsche for less than 1500 quid, man with a van challenge) or a how hard can it be episode (e.g. can we build amphibious cars or can we make our own petrol)
specials wise, i reckon the botswana or bolivia specials might be the best place to jump in. *AVOID* the india special as a new watcher.
then after that, i reckon just watch whatever. for me, i adore season 8. it's peak top gear for me, every episode is a banger

i personally detest it but i think it'd be bad for a first time watcher because it's not a good representation of the humour that people loved top gear for. for me, it's when the show jumped the shark

            Anonymous

You could be right, I haven't actually seen it in years so all I really remember is people being miserable in hot cars and trying to deliver food. Always enjoy seeing at least one of them being miserable in a hot car, which is why I hate all the ones where they're driving new cars with AC.

This. And even then those lists often sneak in one or two stinkers where the "challenge" involves driving some new boring supercar they've been paid to shill really fast through a foreign country.

There are a couple of of celebrities in a reasonably priced car that are fun as well, but not really enough to make the effort for.

Clarkson had a sort of permed Afro on Top Gear in 1990. I'd also want to pretend it never happened if I were him. In the same period James May experimented with that vaguely lesbian haircut that members of the Rolling Stones were into. He looked ridiculous.
