I don't have a problem with Wayne winning but why exactly did they choose him over Raj? The Hockey Bros are basically the same character but Raj was at least a bit more pro active then Wayne was in the storyline for the season. I would have forgiven the "steamrolls every challenge" out of nowhere in contrast to the first season if she at least had a decent relation with any other character. The strongest she probably had throughout the show was Damien and that still wasn't very strong. She had next to no interaction with anyone else and got duped out of the game because the writers didn't know what to do with her.

doing another season with the same cast in the same setting was a mistake. the gen 1 seasons worked because they varied the location and had a partially rotating cast.

Team Wayne I could see being the season's Team Victory due to the writers deciding they should just get rid of the Hockey Bros earlier now that Wayne won because they struggle to write them separately, Axel no longer working off Ripper in the same team, and Zee and Damien's eliminations already being kind of bad. The mere fact that Team Caleb would cause the most seethe if they got the most characters to merge tells me at most they will lose one character before merge. Anyone could go on Team Julia before merge besides Ripper because he's needed for the gross out humor.
It also depends on what the other writers and Fresh want in case of a renewal. We’re only seeing his perspective because he’s the only crew member engaging with fans.

I think not mixing the casts is a very missed opportunity in general, All Stars was shit, but not because it had older and newer contestants, there's a lot of interesting interactions that could come from mixing the casts.
I think bothering about "canonical" anything with Total Drama is dumb, they've always played fast and lose with how reality in this reality show works, it's not like they're changing anyone's designs, just use them as they are.

The only real cross-gen interactions we got that lasted more than one episode were Sierra and Cameron (garbage) and Scottney. And unsurprisingly, Scottney was one of the more liked things from the season.
I'll forever be mad that everything set up with Jo in that first episode immediately got thrown away.
Gwen become Zoey and Cameron's friend though, so that's something else at least.

Honestly part me of wants to think that Scott realized that being a villain in Total Drama more often than not results in horrible things happening to you, since he did suffer more than most other villains.
It was so annoying how people would look at Julia in fear like she was satan every time she announced a dirty game-move she did, instead of getting aggressive.
Most satisfying moments were Bowie getting into a cat fight with her in season 1 and Damian shoving in her season 2.
Very few times characters actually got aggressive with their villains each season though. At most I think it was Gwen and Leshawna getting back at Heather in island.
Yeah, like people fought back against Heather. She wasn't some invincible titan that everyone shuddered away from. Gwen poured fire ants in her bed, Leshawna was about to beat her ass for showing Harold her breasts. There's no way Chris was going to interfere if one of the other contestants just slapped Julia across the face. It's just another way the show was neutered.
True even after island heather basically had no real allies in action (aside from Harold and leshawna occasionally being nice to her) and leshawna slaps the frick out of her in world tour hell in all stars she goes out like a b***h

It's proof that this series will always have weird writing decisions and unsatisfying eliminations, but that doesn't mean it has no merit. You gotta look at the whole picture and not that one weird thing they put in for no good reason. Most of the fan-favorite seasons have almost as many problemas as the highly criticized ones, but have something else that makes it okay.

I miss when there were explicit rewards for the winners each episode. Nothing huge, like a pizza party or you can get letters or a video call from home or something. Thinking about it, Team Skunk Butt for instance, had Julia. Like the slide episode for instance had Chase being worthless, so they lost. But they didn't lose out on any prize, but no one liked Julia (except Raj and Wayne sorta, but Bowie could've easily got them on his side) so there was no reason to vote for Chase when a much more hated player could be voted away instead.
Anon Chase already got voted off for being more hated than Julia in the first season, nobody on his team but Ripper liked him which is the same as Julia only having MK. He and Lauren are the only characters that could have a worse reputation than Julia.
No way he'd be more hated than one of the villains of the last season. She was also a bigger threat than Chase was, so it had a bigger advantage to get rid of her.
Bowie was afraid he would look bad, because at that point, Julia was proving herself she was a team player, even Wayne and Raj didn't want to vote for Julia being a team player, but they are morons. In universe, Bowie's repuation was lower than Julia's

I finally realized what Caleb's trajectory reminds me of.

I think even if people considered it predictable before S2 aired, Caleb would've been more entertaining if he went full revenge antagonist to the finale.
I don't think people had a problem with first-out making it to the finale, it's that he got there in the most uninteresting and annoying way and he was even a loser to the very end.

We should all call it part 1, and 2. The reboot is just the reboot. Episodes 1-26. Fresh executives wanted it to be one entity, but Cartoon Network made them split it into two parts. Thinking of the reboot as one season, one entity makes it easier to appreciate it more and understand it more. Both parts were written together, watching only one part without the other is missing context. Story arcs written in part 1 weren't finished until part 2. With that said
