This. People will only still say Heather's the best because of nostalgia over being the original villain. Julia alone has done way more things without having to be given as much lucky breaks as Heather. If Julia rides out all 26 episodes on the show like with Heather, then I feel that she's just going to keep getting better than her.
Then you have MK who's also getting her hands dirty and bending the show to her will which hasn't really been done before by previous villains besides maybe Courtney.
Julia has done more, but in terms of personality, Heather has more charisma. She really thought she was that great and excused her actions in S1 as just part of playing the game. Julia is so blatantly evil that there's not much to her other than ruthlessness.
I don't think I would like her this season at all if she didn't have MK.

the biggest fumble with scott was having him switch teams. after tearing the rats a new butthole, it's implied that he's going to change his strategy. but then he gets put onto the maggots, and he goes back to doing the same thing he was already doing. episodes 7 and 8 are the worst scott episodes, but thankfully he bounces back quick after the merge. episode 9 is him at his best imo.

It was also too risky because you can easily get yourself eliminated instead. B and Dawn figured it out and had Chris not intervened in having them tell their team that Scott's a rat, Scott's goose would have been cooked. His plan didn't work as well with the Maggots because they were smarter and he was only saved from elimination because he found the idol.
But yes had it not been for the team switch, Scott would have targeted the Maggots regardless.

No. MK is most likely to STEAL the immunity idol off someone else. I can see Zee or someone finds it and either MK notices the idol on that person and ends up stealing it or Zee just tells her about it because he's an idiot.
Very happy they're not just redoing the first season again and that early booted characters get to stay. I hope they keep that up and the finalists are just characters who never got that chance before, like MK, Caleb, Damian, and Raj.
Caleb's not making the finale and I have doubts about Raj but I'm not ruling him out because of a feeling.
MK and Damien are toss of the coin. Julia saved MK by making Bowie the scapegoat who made MK cheat but that whole cheating thing might linger with the others. Damien just feels like the new Lightning in that he's just out of everyone's way and doing his own thing while trying to play the game.
I think the difference is Lightning was very physically capable and stupid to a point that it could work as a superpower. Damien is very normal.
That said, if he gets the idol then that could help him a lot. He could always develop into some skills if they give him a shot.
Well he already won his first solo immunity(even if it was mostly with luck). But perhaps the Lightning comparison may not have been the best example since Lightning was seen as a physical threat once the merge hit and did get targeted at times but Damien isn't seen as a threat as Bowie and others have confirmed so maybe he's more like Cameron?

Seems if you don't have a buddy or love interest, you're out. Chase, Emma, Nicholle, and Scary Girl didn't and were eliminated early (I know Emma and Chase were a thing but they both broke up). Millie and Bowie did have a partner, but they weren't tied to them exclusively (Raj has his hockey bro and Priya has Caleb).
So basically, Zee and Damian are super fricked unless they become BFFs in the next episode. And I doubt that's happening.

Chef and Chris really suck now. It was a problem in the first season of the reboot but now it feels like a lot of their edge is completely gone. They don't interact much with the cast outside of challenges or are really doing stuff in episodes. They're just there to announce the challenge, have a little bit of snarky commentary then announce who's out.
Zee feels like the guy whpnwill bumblefrick his way into finding it. Maybe Ripper. Would be boring if Julia or MK nabbed it because muh cheating. Would be funny if Chris laid out a false onento troll em
I feel like storylines this seasons have been rather quick? Even more so than last season, which had the same amount of episodes.
MK cheating is already done, she got caught but then Bowie took the fall.
Bowie lying to Raj about the cheating didn't even last more than 2 episodes, and Raj didn't give a shit by the next episode. Same as Wayne, he wasn't at all mad at Julia for what happened.
Ripper and Axel's romance started in episode 2 and by episode 4 they were already together.
Every storyline I think will last just doesn't. I bet the Caleb/Priya thing will be resolved next episode

But when she finds out what Caleb was saying about her, that will completely override anything she told Zee to keep secret because it would be pointless at that point since Caleb was just using her and not returning her feelings like she thought.

I feel that this might be some of these guys first time watching the show. The more baggage you have on you especially toxic baggage, the more your chances of staying longer sink to the ground. Those who are under the radar and having no real plots going are the ones who slip on by further.
There's a difference between going under the radar and totally failing to interact with anybody. We all know Cody's the biggest floater, but he was never at any point just in the background doing absolutely nothing. He always had something going on even if that something was just being tortured by Sierra.

He was trying hard to win so he wouldn't get booted first again last season at the start but not exactly understanding how it works.
having caleb be deluded and using his looks and strength to play the game and get alliances would have been better than forcing a boring romance on him.
He wouldn't have to be Justin 2.0 when Justin was a complete failure of a villain to begin with. At least being a villain would've gave him interesting screentime.

That's AFTER Justin stopped being a villain, anon. All of his villainous screentime consisted of Justin successfully using his charm. Caleb would flip that on its head.
They won't do another guy F2. But I guess Damien's a roller coaster. He's the one I can't really pin down where I place him in the rankings. He's made merge and still in the game mid-season. He even won the first solo immunity and has shown an interest in finding the immunity idol. If he continues to stay out of everyone's drama, I can see him make it to atleast the F5 and if he makes it even further, then he's probably going to the finale. But if he gets too much focus in one episode and gets involved with someone else, he's probably going home.
There's literally no reason for anyone to vote him off unless he fricks up. Everyone else (bar Zee) is essentially in an alliance and nobody will want the other pairs to stay, all the drama is going to avoid him and he isn't too big a threat to ever be a target. In fact, I can kinda see an early Gwen AS situation where everyone wants to try and buddy up with him for his vote so he holds all the power from the shadows. A Damien VS MK sneaky geek war would unironically be kino

People were surprised by it which shows that they don't think Damien's a serious threat. They might just shrug it off as luck.
If he won the next immunity, then I could see people start to see him as a threat.
Millie won the first merge challenge last time. Sure it was with Priya's help, but the others didn't know that. And if we look at other seasons we have things like Leshawna winning two of the first three merges in Island and Lindsay winning a bunch in Action. You don't get seen as a threat just for winning in TD, but for your skills and personality.

Based on Ripper's comment I dont think he and Axel will get double eliminated. Either he will take advantage or choose to knock himself out so she has a chance to win.

Could also just be used to cause friction between them and they break off which causes one to be eliminated. We still have 7 episodes so it's not a surefire thing that they remain together.
There will likely be friction with the current pairs. I just think it would be funnier if Ripper x Axel ends up working out compared to thr Julia MK alliance and Priya Caleb ship
I do too. Sure Axel will not hesitate to toss Ripper if it means winning as she's shown in episode 6 but Ripper probably lowkey digs that ruthlessness even if he voices his annoyance with the action.
Julia and MK's alliance is probably gonna break at some point especially if MK can't snag more cheating advantages as much anymore now that her intern gig got blown. Priya and Caleb's thing is probably going to sink because of Zee.

Honestly, f**k it. One of the best written characters ever. No matter where she places at this point (even though I think she's not leaving until the final 6 at least), Total Drama hasn't had a character this enjoyable since the first generation. The writers knew exactly what to do with her, really hope they won't screw her up for the remainder of the season.
The only reason why I'm not confident about a Raj finale is how he responded to Bowie's partying words. He just let out a sad "ok, bowie".
It doesn't give me strong confidence that he would actually take to heart that "I need to win this for him!" mindset he would need. Maybe if Wayne gets eliminated too and he actually gives Raj a speech about winning

Cody had 26 episodes. As for Cameron, he was a backseat third wheel in the Zoke relationship so that's not that much better than Damien. Not to say Damien's gotten much yet other than his beef with Millie.
The writers' biggest mistake was giving Nichelle a good design. She was never going to be taken seriously as a character or have a purpose. They just had fun while designing her.

but anons, what's next for this show after these 2 seasons end? i've been watching it for so long and even though i'm well aware this may be its last hurrah, it's gonna hurt knowing we'll never see them again.
All depends on CN. If they greenlight a third season, I think we might get another new cast unless they do an All-Stars thing and have the G4 cast compete with the older casts. But unless cartoon aging logic doesn't take place, then those older casts should be adults.
I can't see them using the older characters if they're full-grown adults now. That would require creating new assets for them and everything. Plus CN might want to be strict about having the cast remain teenagers and such.
This would be PERFECT. 8 contestants from this cast + 8 gen 1 characters (because the target demographic would recognize them from Dramarama). But it's a tricky option to consider given the fact that it's been over 10 years since the writers played with the old gen. So I'm not sure how well that would fare.
Threw these together in a few minutes. Hypothetically this would be Fresh TV's most obvious picks for a new season with half of the cast being returnees.

The 2 from above + Cody and Harold would also make great options since they're familiar faces from, well, Dramarama.
Heather is the only obvious non-Dramarama competitor but her absence would significantly decrease the quality of this lineup. Plus she's still popular.
Millie would return to redeem her narcissistic plot.
The other potential replacements are also viable, but less likely than those who I believe would actually be in.
No way they'd leave Duncan out so he probably takes Heather's place.

Also I think it's premature to think about how far the new cast will go until this season is finished. If Damian wins this season he's not gonna be a finalist next time
on one hand, i'm gonna miss this cast, but on the other, i'd rather they get shelved than butchered. the dream is another genuine full length season, maybe not camp themed but exploring some other reality tv archetype. more episodes with the cast, more time for plots to develop, and maybe even a spiritual successor to the episode at the Playa Des Losers.
I'm surprised they haven't done Big Brother yet. Though maybe Fresh pitched the idea to CN years ago and it was rejected.
This would be PERFECT. 8 contestants from this cast + 8 gen 1 characters (because the target demographic would recognize them from Dramarama). But it's a tricky option to consider given the fact that it's been over 10 years since the writers played with the old gen. So I'm not sure how well that would fare.

I know it doesn't mean anything, but Terry seems to respond to suggestions about a Ridonculous Race season 2 more than anything else. Especially since it would excuse bringing old cast members back without worrying about age.
I'd love to get a new All Stars (in the style of World Tour) now that there are actual multiple generations of contestants instead of just 2. Only problem is I think the reboot is canonically set many years after, so the OGs are prob too old.
It'd be dumb to cancel it so soon after bringing the show back, but this past year has proved to me that executives and corporations don't act in a logical or smart manner, so this show could be dead just because of some stupid merger didn't need it.

Well it started with more of them having a common problem with being on a team with Bowie and his numbers. MK pointed out to Julia that Bowie would send her home any time he wanted and she'd probably follow after her so it made sense to team up to combat Bowie. It probably developed into mutual respect with all of MK's cheating and Julia going along with it. Plus both have no moral limits on how much bad shit they'll do and don't care for making friends. The TDI originals as others said are probably already grown adults in their 30s-40s married, pregnant with kids, and having real jobs and if you know how former child actors are in the real world, some of them are probably mentally damaged from Total Drama and would want NOTHING to do with the show let alone with Chris basically being Dan Schiender but if he was a sadist instead of pervert.
Given that they have shown nothing about the older casts in both reboot seasons so far outside of small references, they might really stick to real logic and have them age and stay gone. Chris hasn't mentioned any of them.

I think Nichelle might be the single most boring character in the entire series. The other early booters in past seasons all had gimmicks or memorable quirks to make them stand out - even if that was their reason for going. Nichelle didn't do shit and had cardboard for personality.

I don't think this cast has the longevity for 3 seasons. Gen 1 worked because there was so many competitors they could split up which underused competitors from Island got a chance to shine between Action and WT. This cast is already being stretched thin with just how much the storylines for this season have been pulled out of the writers ass with no set up. It doesn't help that we are straight up just stuck on the island forever due to the rebranding of the show.

This. Since Axel got booted episode 2, I thought that was the end of their rivalry. When it came back this season even when they were on different teams, I was shocked because cross-team relationships(especially built from the previous season) isn't too common as much anymore. I can see either scenario play out. There is still a third possibility that someone else manages to find it like say Zee and MK ends up swiping it off of him(because that's her thing) and ends up saving herself from elimination.

mk's cheating was kept their team from losing and saved julia from getting booted by bowie. i think it's only fair julia pulls her weight and helps mk now like she did this episode.

the question that exists is would they be able to win without cheating? i feel like the challenges were directly based around the cheating plotline in mind. ep. 3's cheating was out of desperation, sure, but imo they could've won ep. 4 regardless since emma was a ticking bomb, and ep. 5's shenanigans (and them almost losing) only happened directly because of the cheating.
thing is if the rats told priya to frick off and stopped listening to emma early on, they might have been able to win. i think mk and julia probably didn't want to take that risk and not cheat so then they lose and bowie gets the hockey bros to help him vote out julia.

I don't know if S2 is better than S1 or if it's just better that they didn't drop the whole season at once. We wouldn't be talking about any of this had the whole show been released last week.
What I really like is that this might be the first season where the elimination order isn't spoiled ahead of time, and all because the italians are generous enough to share the english version with us. It was pure suffering back in the day when a season aired in another country earlier and there was no english version available to share.
None of us have any idea where the season will go from here and that's exciting.

Julia has the better writing, but Heather's still the better character overall. Especially in terms of actually rooting against her because for all her b***hiness, I don't think anybody (irl) really despised Julia and wanted her gone - tons of people rooted for her, even. Heather on the other hand was the most detestable fricking b***h and everyone's first time watching is a building rollercoaster of wanting to see Heather finally fall until she got the perfect piece of karma, while Julia just had a normal exit.
It's nice that the show is more grounded and characters feel real, but it doesn't sell the narrative the same way villains like Heather and Al did.

the biggest fumble with scott was having him switch teams. after tearing the rats a new butthole, it's implied that he's going to change his strategy. but then he gets put onto the maggots, and he goes back to doing the same thing he was already doing. episodes 7 and 8 are the worst scott episodes, but thankfully he bounces back quick after the merge. episode 9 is him at his best imo.

It was also too risky because you can easily get yourself eliminated instead. B and Dawn figured it out and had Chris not intervened in having them tell their team that Scott's a rat, Scott's goose would have been cooked. His plan didn't work as well with the Maggots because they were smarter and he was only saved from elimination because he found the idol.
But yes had it not been for the team switch, Scott would have targeted the Maggots regardless.

Very happy they're not just redoing the first season again and that early booted characters get to stay. I hope they keep that up and the finalists are just characters who never got that chance before, like MK, Caleb, Damian, and Raj.
Caleb's not making the finale and I have doubts about Raj but I'm not ruling him out because of a feeling.
MK and Damien are toss of the coin. Julia saved MK by making Bowie the scapegoat who made MK cheat but that whole cheating thing might linger with the others. Damien just feels like the new Lightning in that he's just out of everyone's way and doing his own thing while trying to play the game.
I think the difference is Lightning was very physically capable and stupid to a point that it could work as a superpower. Damien is very normal.
That said, if he gets the idol then that could help him a lot. He could always develop into some skills if they give him a shot.
Well he already won his first solo immunity(even if it was mostly with luck). But perhaps the Lightning comparison may not have been the best example since Lightning was seen as a physical threat once the merge hit and did get targeted at times but Damien isn't seen as a threat as Bowie and others have confirmed so maybe he's more like Cameron?

Seems if you don't have a buddy or love interest, you're out. Chase, Emma, Nicholle, and Scary Girl didn't and were eliminated early (I know Emma and Chase were a thing but they both broke up). Millie and Bowie did have a partner, but they weren't tied to them exclusively (Raj has his hockey bro and Priya has Caleb).
So basically, Zee and Damian are super fricked unless they become BFFs in the next episode. And I doubt that's happening.

Chef and Chris really suck now. It was a problem in the first season of the reboot but now it feels like a lot of their edge is completely gone. They don't interact much with the cast outside of challenges or are really doing stuff in episodes. They're just there to announce the challenge, have a little bit of snarky commentary then announce who's out.

I feel like storylines this seasons have been rather quick? Even more so than last season, which had the same amount of episodes.

Bowie lying to Raj about the cheating didn't even last more than 2 episodes, and Raj didn't give a shit by the next episode. Same as Wayne, he wasn't at all mad at Julia for what happened.
Ripper and Axel's romance started in episode 2 and by episode 4 they were already together.
Every storyline I think will last just doesn't. I bet the Caleb/Priya thing will be resolved next episode

I feel that this might be some of these guys first time watching the show. The more baggage you have on you especially toxic baggage, the more your chances of staying longer sink to the ground. Those who are under the radar and having no real plots going are the ones who slip on by further.
There's a difference between going under the radar and totally failing to interact with anybody. We all know Cody's the biggest floater, but he was never at any point just in the background doing absolutely nothing. He always had something going on even if that something was just being tortured by Sierra.

The others underestimate him like Bowie which is why they were surprised he beat Julia and Bowie to win immunity. Even Chris was surprised. Coupled with Damien mentioning how he pretty much sucks compared to everyone else, he's got the perfect image to get on by because no one will see him as a serious threat. So yeah. Unless Damien does something royally stupid like Zee did last season, I can't see him be pinned as a target for elimination. Millie won the first merge challenge last time. Sure it was with Priya's help, but the others didn't know that. And if we look at other seasons we have things like Leshawna winning two of the first three merges in Island and Lindsay winning a bunch in Action. You don't get seen as a threat just for winning in TD, but for your skills and personality.

Honestly, f**k it. One of the best written characters ever. No matter where she places at this point (even though I think she's not leaving until the final 6 at least), Total Drama hasn't had a character this enjoyable since the first generation. It probably developed into mutual respect with all of MK's cheating and Julia going along with it. Plus both have no moral limits on how much bad shit they'll do and don't care for making friends. Gen 1 worked because there was so many competitors they could split up which underused competitors from Island got a chance to shine between Action and WT. This cast is already being stretched thin with just how much the storylines for this season have been pulled out of the writers ass with no set up. julia and mk both still have shitty reputations among the cast so it's still going to be imperative to stick together to take out the big threats like priya, caleb, axel and ripper.
It amazes me that Julia and MK never sought to just pull in Ripper to their little alliance. Or at the very least use him to help stop Bowie from controlling the vote. Ripper was all in on the cheating and even sided with them when Bowie and the Hockey Bros staged a mutiny against Julia and MK.

Julia directly caused the last two eliminations, and Priya, Ripper, Zee, and the hockey bros are very aware that Julia is a fierce player, with the latter two especially having a bone to pick with her if they learn the truth. Add in the teamwork of the Rats, and the odds are absolute against them right now. Bowie's elimination was a small victory.
MK's strategy is kaput and has a giant target on her back following Chris outing her (which was actually really based on his part). Priya, Damien, and Axel specifically seemed to be pissed at her when they found out about the cheating. The difference between them is that Julia can hold herself during challenges, which is probably what MK will have to rely on.
I can see them both double-crossing each other in two manners in the future.
1. MK will actively seek the idol since that's basically all she can do at the moment, or Julia will find it, and MK will convince Julia to use it on her. Either the votes will be split or Julia will be voted on.
2. Julia will ditch MK when the time comes, and she can definitely take MK on in a 1v1.
MK needs Julia more than the opposite, so MK will definitely need to be more careful of the two.

I can see either scenario play out. There is still a third possibility that someone else manages to find it like say Zee and MK ends up swiping it off of him(because that's her thing) and ends up saving herself from elimination.

mk's cheating was kept their team from losing and saved julia from getting booted by bowie. i think it's only fair julia pulls her weight and helps mk now like she did this episode.

the question that exists is would they be able to win without cheating? i feel like the challenges were directly based around the cheating plotline in mind. ep. 3's cheating was out of desperation, sure, but imo they could've won ep. 4 regardless since emma was a ticking bomb, and ep. 5's shenanigans (and them almost losing) only happened directly because of the cheating.
thing is if the rats told priya to frick off and stopped listening to emma early on, they might have been able to win. i think mk and julia probably didn't want to take that risk and not cheat so then they lose and bowie gets the hockey bros to help him vote out julia.

What I really like is that this might be the first season where the elimination order isn't spoiled ahead of time, and all because the italians are generous enough to share the english version with us. It was pure suffering back in the day when a season aired in another country earlier and there was no english version available to share.
