    >Ezra Miller lost his fricking mind
    >It’s tied to the Snyderverse which despite what Cinemaphile says is a big turnoff for most moviegoers
    >Nobody is a big fan of The Flash character. Most people are either neutral on him or sorta kinda like him
    >They’re trying to use the return of Michael Keaton’s Batman as a big selling point without realizing his last movie came out 31 years ago so nobody besides middle aged or old people is excited to see him back
    >WB pumping out a suspiciously high amount of early praise for it which is an admission on their part there is no hype so they’re trying to create some

Snyder worked directly with James Wan on Aquaman so it would mesh with Snyderverse.

              >Snyder worked directly with James Wan on Aquaman so it would mesh with Snyderverse.
Zack Snyder left during the production of Aquaman, and when that happened Geoff Johns used his influence to change shit around. James Wan was unhappy with it. There is a reason why Wan said he won't do a third Aquaman movie. Wan has been dicked around by WB execs as much as Snyder and several other directors have.

Same thing happened with Wonder Woman. Geoff Johns rewrote several of the dialogues during the production of the movie and later on WB execs pushed for further changes like changing the third act climax.

No it wasn't. Henry chose to have a brighter take himself for that scene, go read the interviews. He also is wearing a cleaned up version of the Man of Steel suit there, not Whedon's bright colorful studio-mandate hackjob reshoots suit with the weird teal shit and the off-center logo. He also chose to drop the old theme with the director, and to do the classic theme instead. You just made that shit up on your own. This is what I meant in that other post. Everyone just takes shit at face value nowadays. How come nobody even attempts to do research, and instead chooses to argue on bad faith and ignorance? Have things always been this way and I'm only now realizing this as I come deeper into my 20s?

The point is that the old suit and the John Williams theme was a slap in the face of every fan that actually care about the Zack Snyder's DC movies and the moment they learned of this none of them went to support the movie. It was DOA.

The same is going to happen with this movie. Every Batfleck fan is shitting on this movie because of the stupid and awful looking blue suit. Every Zack Snyder's fan is shitting on the goofy looking Flash suit and shitting on the fact that they're using scenes from MoS but making everything look worse.

They aren't going to reward WB, specially after everything that has happened, for this low effort shit.

Do you even know why the fans came up with the "Snyderverse" name? To distance Zack Snyder's directed movies from whatever bullshit WB was releasing at the time.

                Snyderverse:
                Man of Steel
                Batman v Superman
                Zack Snyder's Justice League

WB's bullshit goyslop that should be rightfully ignored:
                Suicide Squad
                Wonder Woman
                Aquaman
                Justice League
                Shazam
                Birds of Prey
                The Suicide Squad
                The Peacemaker
                Black Adam
                Shazam 2
                The Flash

There are some fans that will consider Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman as canon to Zack Snyder's DC movies but with tons of caveats. Like Suicide Squad only counts when it comes to the unrelease David Ayer's directors cut, Wonder Woman only counts until the third act that was changed by execs, Aquaman only counts partially because of the changes made during post production, and so on.
Personally? I couldn't give a frick about these three movies. Frick them.

Nobody is going to support Warner Bros just because they're desperate for money. They can have all the actors from the Snyder's movies in it and even strong-arm Snyder himself to praise the movie, i and most of his fans will see the end product with suspicion and derision. WB is responsible for this environment with the fanbase.

Specially for a movie that is nothing but cameos galore and cheesy references to past movies.
Not to mention all the cut scenes that they filmed but won't use anymore because they don't align anymore with WB execs' plans. Where is Henry Cavill cameo? Oops, can't have that because James Gunn doesn't want it. Guess the director doesn't care that much about his movie because he won't do shit about it. Got to sell product.

This isn't a fricking movie. This is advertisement.

Just because you aren't personally invested in it doesn't mean it's a soulless advertisement. For Ezra this is the culmination of their whole career they've slowly built since being a child, of the character they've built playing Flash the last 9 or so years. Andy Muschietti cares about the story, and representing the emotional stakes properly, as well as paying heavy mind to Snyder's world, and giving homage to Keaton. Keaton cares because he hasn't been Batman in a fricktillion years, and he respects the script deeply and thought it was a good experience to work on. You are just a bitter imbecile who doesn't enjoy passionate people unless they directly align with what you selfishly want.

      >It’s tied to the Snyderverse which despite what Cinemaphile says is a big turnoff for most moviegoers
Either way I can already see Gunn and WB use this film as a way to further demonize the DCEU/Snyder and push the semi-reboot DCU.

That's sort of the problem. The DCEU has spent the last decade getting beat to the punch by Marvel.

They didn't do a crossover until well after the Avengers so it didn't seem like a big deal any more

They had a chance get Justice League out the gate before Infinity War so Darkseid didn't seem like a Thanos rip-off (which he isn't, he predates Thanos) but they blew it to let Whedon try and turn the Snyderverse into MCU lite

And now they're doing a nostalgiabait multiverse thing with Batman but Marvel just did it with Spider-Man so it's just another "hey, we're doing it too but after the fact" moment. THey've done nothing to dispel the impression of themsevlves as the junior partner in the capeshit duology

    Marvel shill here.

As biased as I am, I actually want to see this movie do extremely well. DC is a living blooper reel and if they do get a small infrequent tremor of success on occasion, at this stage it's an empire built out of used cardboard atop a rotting maggot-covered corpse. That being said; should Flash do well, this'll actually cause a thousand brand new problems and glitches for them since the Snyderverse is gone and everything lies in the hands of Gunn, who has an entirely fresh plan moving forward. Honestly, watching them attempt to fix this endless clusterfrick will be better than any of the movies could hope to be. I'm all in, baby.

There are rumors that if this do well WB will be forced to make a sequel that is all in on the multiverse thing since sequels need to always go bigger. That means that James Gunn will be forced to deal with past franchises and shit like that not to mention that the ghost of Zack Snyder will always be present in some form or another.

      So you're not wrong.

everyone is not saying that, BoxOfficePro put that range out before presales started, now 3 days or so in, its pacing well below the batman or any of the recent marvel movies and even spider-verse, it might massively pick up near the end but for now 115m is being extremely generous

I thought Zoomers loved Michale Keaton?

  33. 11 months ago
    Anonymous

Not surprising. The early projections were done using social media analysis, which is almost entirely useless because fans can easily make a movie look more popular than it actually is. Ticket sales are what matters. Mainstream audiences are burned out on DC or see it as a label to stay away from. Especially after Black Adam and Shazam’s atrocious receptions.
Aquaman is the only seemingly invulnerable DC property. A lot of this is due to international appeal, especially in China where it was able to make 291 million dollars alone, nearly rivaling its America run of 335 million dollars.
James Gunn is fricked. Even he can’t save what is essentially a decaying, rotting brand. This corpse demands a full on reboot. The wishy-washy “let’s keep this and get rid of that mentality” won’t fix the problem. The well has been poisoned.

      Anonymous

James Gunn bought a home on an Indian burial ground. Without a reboot there’s no chance he has much success. His Superman movie will underperform and he’ll be headed out the door just in time for Zaslav to sell WB to Comcast so they can add their content to Peawiener
