Nah, people still really respect the original Superman as a film and not a capeshit. People also saw was Snyder did with Watchmen which is basically a literally who comic compared to DC and Marvel.

Watchman is DC, and it always has been. Moore was writing things like swamp thing and some of the more iconic superman stories at the time and DC just bought Charleston comic's characters. Moore wanted to write a story making fun of his oshi, Steve Ditko's, characters because Ditko was mega based and then got told later they couldn't be the charlston characters.
