That's some of the most fun about the... armor system?
Those transformers who just peg together, so you can combine 2-3 of them into one bulkier bot.

pitch a new animated series Cinemaphile

        No humans
        Only bots (and aliens)
The war to free the transformers from the Quintessons (because frick the pseudo-religious Primus stuff. The Quintessons just have really good tech the Transformers can't replicated (Matrix and shit)

You actually like Quintessons? And not just because you can project Lovecraft things on them which wasn't in the actual show?

An anthology series that follows various factions/characters in different points of time, maybe with some sorta general overarching/interconnected plot strung between them. That way you can show off a whole buncha toys.
Another idea with a proper story was something like this:
        >Takes place after Beast Wars, ignoring Beast Machines entirely
        >Original Maximal crew return to Cybertron and report on what happened, handing Megatron over as well
        >Maximal leadership realizes a whole buncha crap has been left on prehistoric Earth and is starting to have some funny side effects on the timeline
        >They send a team to clean up the mess left on Earth
        >The main crew is a mix of Maximals and Predacons from various backgrounds
        >Some are soldiers or researchers while others are white-collar criminals doing community service
        >One idea I had was for Grimlock to jump on the mission because Cybertron has been getting really boring what with peacetime
        >Naturally something goes wrong and Tarantulas probably has something to do with it
        >On top of prehistoric Earth and Vok nonsense, the crew also has to deal with time anomolies bringing things and characters in from across time and space
        >The group would splinter into several factions that could change over time
        >Some more war-mongering types would rather things delve further into chaos while other, saner guys would actually want to try and repair the timeline

I'm all for this as well. Include some cool deep sea stuff and I'm 200% for it.

The Dinobots are a group of dangerous, violent morons who are stranded on a planet where Shockwave and Scorponok are beefing with each other. The pair have their own respective armies of drones that the Dinobots can destroy basically with impunity, and a few lieutenants that serve as recurring and more durable opponents. One of them has the Predacons and the other one has the Terrorcons. I'd give Shockwave the Predacons, and he controls them through chips he's implanted in them to coerce their loyalty and compliance, whereas Scorponok has a more traditionally mercenary relationship with the Terrorcons - he pays them in energon and maybe he's responsible for making them a Combiner and Scorponok promises them he'll use his technology to make them more powerful, leading to upgrades that sell New Toys.

Maybe Kup's around but he's turbo fricked up - like he's a torso, an arm, and a head in the space ship the Dinobots crash landed in, and he serves to provide advice, narration, and so forth to help keep the anarchic, violent Dinobots on mission instead of just mindlessly rampaging. Of course the Dinobots are too stupid to repair Kup, and the ship's facilities aren't advanced enough to repair him.

Maybe the girl Velociraptor Dinobot is there too on top of the classic five to provide FANSERVICE. She's a cute tomboy who wants to be as tough as all the boy Dinobots and she's more intelligent than them which means average intelligence, but she's gazongas, hips, and a big dumper in robot mode.

Grimlock's not actually moronic he just talks that way because it's convention and he's decently smart but he really hates Shockwave for reasons that come out during the show, and there might be an arc where Grimlock's hatred overrides his sense and he gets in a dangerous alliance with Scorponok that obviously ends badly.

      >I'd give Shockwave the Predacons

That's... kinda dumb, man. Shockwave is known for doing mad science shit. Why wouldn't you pair the team of monsters with the guy that makes monsters and the giant scorpion with the team comprised of other animals? If you're looking to sell toys, then sticking to themes is going to help you do that.

My thinking was that Scorponok is more monstrous in appearance since he turns into a giant scorpion and even in robot mode he has pincers, so the Terrorcons would fit him more aesthetically.

Meanwhile, mad scientist shit is how Shockwave controls the Predacons, and it could be sort of an Island of Dr. Moreau kind of situation.

But yeah, I see how your way is better.

There was a dark period of my life where I wrote just that. I live in fear of these kinds of threads because they make those old demons come out. Here are the highlights.
    >Story is set post Cybertronian civil war, in an alternate 2084 where the Transformers came to Earth in the 80s and soft forced global unification so that humanity would be better prepared for a Decepticon invasion/help the Autobots with the war effort
    >Prime died in a series of events similar to the 86 movie. His body now dwells immortalized in Techno-Tombs of Cybertron
    >Rodimus only took up the Matrix long enough to defeat Unicron before relinquishing its power out of fear. He now serves as the Cybertronian ambassador to Earth.
    >At the start of the show, the galaxy would be at peace after ten years of Autobot rule, but there is civil unrest from the myriad of civilizations uplifted/devastated by the million year war.
    >Story would be told in two threads. One follows Rodimus on a vision quest to become Prime once more after his investigation into the allied organic races political saber rattling leads him to uncover the return of Unicron.
    >The other would follow an original character that's a young human Headmaster cadet being sent to train on Nebulos. After she discovers that her Transtector is actually a still living Decepticon, the unlikely duo go on a mind bending journey across the galaxy's criminal fringe to uncover what happened to the Decpticons after the war.
    >It's revealed at the very end that Unicron and Primus are actually two halves of a higher dimensional being that split itself in two as part of a philosophical debate about the nature of chaos vs order and destruction vs creation.

I could go into more detail, but it'd fill up this whole thread. Needless to say, it'd never get picked up since it'd star an OC and a B-tier side character, with all the big brand name characters shoved to the sidelines.

      >a higher dimensional being that split itself in two as part of a philosophical debate
      >primordial cosmic machine god ponders the nature of reality so hard that it plucks out its own fricking eyes
      >one eye becomes Unicron, the other Primus
      >debate ensues

I'd buy that for a dollar.

I did have an idea where the entire Great War was just a wrestling plot line. Of the clock, everyone knows it's just a job.
One of the Quintesson is just Vince McMahon.

    >go over budget and send the whole series in a downward trajectory.
