Transformers: Collision Course

>An unpublished miniseries from IDW Publishing that would've presumably acted as a capstone to seventeen years of IDW's Transformers storytelling and, possibly, Transformers as a whole.
>The reasons behind Collision Course's cancellation remain unclear—with only months left on the Transformers license, it may have come down to time concerns, or simply a desire to have both Transformers and Beast Wars stories end on an organic note instead of forcing them into a contrived crossover scenario.
>Alternately, it's possible that IDW chose to market Last bot Standing, written with the intent of acting as the "final Transformers story", as a more subdued response to the end of IDW's Transformers mythos.

    >Trash Last Bot Standing over an awaited and well deserved Transformers series crossoving with itself
What the frick IDW? No wonder why they lost the license in the first place.

Skybound probably gave a better offer and IDW didn't put much of a fight given they're in the red and are shifting focus on primarily original stuff

I'd like to see this idea revisited
Maybe as a comic done by Skybound or better yet as an OVA done by Trigger

      >OVA done by Trigger
That would be great, but not gonna happen because brand unification.

Something else, Hasbro don't really want Takara doing too much of their own stuff, like all the Legends repaints or the odd side manga they did. Now the majority of toys Takara bring in are the same as the Hasbro versions and there's less Takara-backed side media.

      FRICK TRIGGER
the last thing anyone needs is them getting their stupid hands on anything

I remember reading the beginnings of IDWs Transformers and seeing it slowly devolve into something I hated.

I want cool heroes and villains in epic battles, but it all seemed to melt in a morally grey unfun chore of a story.

I'm not saying these kinds of stories can't be entertaining but it's real hard to take the subject seriously when a bunch of action figures are talking about war crimes.

Early IDW was mostly battles though?!??

          They make gay shit
Transformers doesn’t need to get any gayer than IDW tried to make it
and it doesn’t need Geewun crap like Bumblebee either

How the frick are the reasons unclear? It's clearly a time issue.
Also I have been ignoring IDW Transformers since they did a weird pseudo-reboot for no reason.

You can't really make claims like that no matter how obvious without citations

      You should check out IDW2, it's got some rad stuff. And it's not a "pseudo-reboot", it's a full-on reboot.

IDW2 wasn't very good, it was meandering at best and boring at worst.

Yup. It got even worse later. Forced politics and preaching. I seriously didn't care about lesbian and gay robots. I wanted action and fighting.

Instead they just made Optimus into a bad guy because reasons and Megatron was right all along and joined the Autobots. It's like the writers just wanted to tear down transformer heroes.

There was also a lack of vision of what to do after ending the Great War . Lots of random stories without a clear idea.

I thought the whole point of IDW1 Prime was that he wasn't able to live up the legacy and legend of what Optimus Prime is to many people?
