It's still gonna bomb

Cold slither spin off fricking when hasbro?
>They want an entire universe
They never fricking learn
I mean I KNOW that this is part and parcel especially for Transformers as a franchise, but WHEN WILL THEY LEARN
>but WHEN WILL THEY LEARN
We just passed the six-year anniversary of pic related, they'll keep doing it until the MCU inevitably crashes and burns and maybe ever after that
The funny part is that this actually did get a good Universal Monsters movie... but only after they scratched the "make interconnected superhero movies" idea and let someone make a standalone, R-rated horror film like everyone had been saying to.
> GI Joe tease
I DON'T FRICKING CARE ABOUT GI JOE! I DON'T WANT TO WATCH MOVIES FROM A FRANCHISE I DON'T CARE ABOUT TO KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING IN TRANSFORMERS MOVIES! THERE'S ALREADY ENOUGH HUMANS IN THOSE!
Good thing I wasn't planning on watching it due to to the leaks involving an extremely convoluted timeline, godawful CGI, shitty designs like Wheeljack's, and the whole Hispanic rambling the producer of what's-his-face had. What even is the point of staying for Rattrap and the Preds if they will barely get any screentime, lines or actual personality, like Cheetor and Rhinox? I don't get why Hollywood keeps trying to build whole cinematic universes when every attempt at aping Marvel has crashed and burned.
Film is a reboot. They are rebooting Joes again and the sequel will feature GIJoes
What realistically could actually work for a GI Joe movie, because power suits and matrix action sure didn't work.
A second reboot or are they still going to try and push forward from that shitty Snake Eyes movie?
Jesus Christ imagine if they are contractually obligated to pay Henry Golding a substantial sum if the movies get cancelled and they are doing that to get out of doing that.
Any spoiler leaks yet?
Not yet
But...
Effectively an interview was released that was probably intended for release after the film, but seems to be a weird blend between trying to advertise this movie and revealing all its dirty secrets.
The ending/post-credit is revealed, a lot of the story is discussed, a lot of the creative ideas behind it were revealed.
Effectively the jist of it (Non-spoilery version)
The sequel idea was decided upon two weeks ago
The director, Steven, seems to be at odds with the producer on where to take the series
The producer, Lorenzo, seemed to have a lot more control over this than the director
Steven Caple Jr kinda showing some disregard to a character from Beast Wars, it seems to have been his idea to alter characters away from source material
Lorenzo wants to focus on avoiding repeating, which to him seems to mean straying from any aspect adapted in the previous films - presumably why we're not getting Decepticons in this film which we've known about for a while
Misleading remarks by several of the cast on the roles their characters play/development along with innacurate remarks about the film
The only good aspect was that we're getting a deleted scene on the blu-ray featuring Transit.
Link to this and source for this GI Joe vs Transformers thing as well?
God damn
Do you have the link to the interview?
>The director, Steven, seems to be at odds with the producer on where to take the series

Motherfrick...
>Lorenzo wants to focus on avoiding repeating, which to him seems to mean straying from any aspect adapted in the previous films
But we've already had the Transformers play second fiddle to a paramilitary organization? And we've already had movies where humans have allied with the Decepticons so how will a crossover with GI Joe/Cobra be fresh other than having a Hasbro affiliated brand attached to it?
Is this the same Lorenzo di Bonaventura that said Cobra Commander's hood was evocative of the KKK?
I kinda like Lorenzo. Reminds me of a good comics editor.

>When are the Transformers and G.I. Joe going to team up? They did this all the time in the comics.
>You know, the truth of matter is, the studio has always been against that. Every regime that’s been at Paramount is against it because it’s taking two franchises and making them one, but I think it’s inevitable…. I just think that we haven’t run out of storytelling yet to require us to put them together in a sense. I don’t know about you, but Alien vs. Predator, in a way, besmirched both of them….Steven Caple, who’s directing Transformers right now, is a huge G.I. Joe fan, too. And he was like, “Why aren’t you doing that?” Everyone was like, “Well, try to make a Transformers movie really good. Then we’ll talk about that.

>Because Hasbro is a big part of this, in the pre-production process when you're figuring out the storyline and the characters you want to include, how much are they pulling you aside and saying, “We would really like you to include these characters or a bunch of new characters,” and how much is it you guys saying, “Well, we want to use the Terrorcons.”?
>Bonaventura: Well, I'm going to answer that sort of secondarily by saying, look, we want to use new characters because you're going to get bored if you do the same thing over and over as a filmmaker, right? So, we're constantly listening to the fanbase, from the beginning of time. They're not shy about telling us which Transformer we should have done, or which one we screwed up, or any of those sorts of things.
>I'll give you an example. We've been talking about the Beasts probably since movie three. How do you put them in this movie? How would it work? How do you put machines and animals together and make that feel natural? The Dinobots, obviously, were an element of that, but the truth is, they play a very small role and they don't talk, and they don't have the same requirements, if you would, that the Maximals do.
>So we work hand-in-hand with Hasbro, but it's not top-down there, it's more bottom-up. So, the guys we work with on the movie, with the designs and all that stuff that we're going back and forth about the colors, and all this stuff, they're the ones – as fans – that are saying to us, “Oh my God, can you imagine what we could do with so-and-so?” So we're really motivated by the fans within Hasbro more than that it's the management saying, “Do this.” Of course, they want to make toys, but it's their enthusiasm for particular characters [that] gets us excited about including them in the movie.
>one of the best installments in the franchise
That's not really saying much.
Surely they actually mean that it's about as good as Bumblebee.
>Primal rubbing chin.jpg
>MCU shills opinion
Cinema is still too expensive
>GI Joe
So, what NEST and Sector 7 should have been all this time?
>An entire universe
I only saw the 1st three Transformers but the insistence on having a relatable human narrative core is beyond annoying and if that's something that persisted through the other films, we're going to have that shitting up the film. It's the same problem the Sonic movie had, actually: I don't need a human narrative anchor. Kids don't either. I was a kid when the 1st Bayformers came out and all I wanted was to see more robots, I didn't care about Actual Cannibal Shia LaBeouf
was back in an early cut as a S7 scientist
They better not have filmed this. Otherwise I see the actress being pissed.
I can't imagine a Gi Joe Vs Transformers movie that lives of to the Scioli Barber comic
>sets up GI Joe
After the last live action movies & the abominations from IDW, I'd rather not.
>gi joe
>AGAIN
just stop
Oh no no no no it's fricking real hahahahha https://news.tfw2005.com/2023/05/26/transformers-rise-of-the-beasts-news-conference-in-singapore-spoilers-484752
GI Joe is going to kill this movie!
>GI Joe is going to kill this movie!
It was dead before then. This movie is the epitome of “who is this even for?”.
>Baygays want a direct continuation of TLK
>Bumblebee/Knightversegays wanted a more traditional Autobot/Decepticon story, but not only are they not getting that, now the Bay aesthetic is slowly starting to seep back in
>Beast Warsgays get cucked out of not only a proper setup film (this film also has to act as a sequel to Bumblebee and set up a trilogy of films with Unicron as the big bad), but they couldn’t even get Gary Chalk back for Primal to get that same sense of nostalgia that G1gays got when Cullen returned as Prime in the 07 film
>next movie looks like Transformers are again going to have to share the spotlight with a human military group
>reboot vs prequel arguments are still going five years after Bumblebee; every time Lorenzo opens his mouth to give a definitive answer, the fans get buck broken by the response even though he’s clearly the captain guiding this ship no matter how much you don’t like what he has to say
Paramount cannot commit or plan out this franchise to save their lives. But they really don’t need to if this film makes its money back, hand over fist, in China.
I say, accelerate. Bring back Michael Bay to direct and let him write the script during this writer’s strike.
>G1 Megatron is coming
He better turn into a fricking human-sized handgun. Otherwise, people jerking themselves off over "faithful GeeWon designs" would look like hypocritical morons
>Rattrap is coming
frick yeah. my boi's coming home.
should have followed the story from beast wars. no humans, or only cavemen. do the origin then have the floating island alien stuff
>gi joe
didn't they made a snake eyes movie recently and it bombed?
it very much did
