>Troon builds a machine
>To go back in time and be born a woman
>It doesn't work
>Commits suicide
And this is considered the most significant trans role on TV so far.

So this guy is typecast as a DNA tampering science asian huh?
kek, I've literally never seen him in any other role
He was a Priest in OZ and was in Law and Order as a psychiatrist.
of research!!!
yes and also a priest who molests children
What other roles like that has he played? Jurassic World?
Jurassic Park too
I thought the Dharma Initiative guy from Lost was the same actor lol
he was a detective in one of the x-files where they went to san fransisco chinatown
he played a psychiatrist in one of the law and order shows, maybe svu
Huang, a psychiatrist on Law and Order: SVU
>the story revolves strongly around the existence of a mysterious machine with powers beyond traditional human comprehension.
>people who have come into contact with this machine have lost their sanity.
>it is never revealed to the audience whether or not the machine actually works, or what it does.
I will never stop being angry
Or what happened to stock broker dude
The glowing dragon baby Tyrell finds before fading tk white is the absolute peak of pseudo-intellectual filmmaking.
>he bluescreened it just means he died
Tyrell uses KDE on Linux so he wouldn't get a bluescreen. Nice try, pseud director
Or what happened to the radicalized lone wolf who was arrested and said his boss was fsociety as some kind of abstraction.
Chinese ergo dark army.
Too simple. He was absorbed by the memes.
it's called a macguffin you midwit. it's not important what the machine does.
The macguffin has to payoff, you fricking monkey.
the payoff is the character growth that elliot undergoes as a result you fricking sperg
>character growth
our Elliot ceases to exist
wasnt the whole fricking thing a dream or something?
The four seasons of the show all really happens. The alternate world Elliot wakes up to in the last three episodes is actually the fantasy world that the composite Elliot Alderson (ie pre- Dissociative Identity Disorder) is trapped in to keep our Elliot, the personality nicknamed Mastermind, in control. Mastermind Elliot decides to sacrifice his control to let composite Elliot wake up. He goes into a theater with the other personalities which begins playing a stream of footage that merges into the stream of consciousness of composite Elliot. Then Elliot wakes up and Darlene recognizes him.
Sounds overcomplicated.
Not really, makes total sense. It's far simpler than whatever shenanigans the Chinamen were up to.
no, it was fiction
This show filters Cinemaphile so hard. The whole thing with the machine was ripped off from The Leftovers.
filtered by shit? Yeah.
>insults himself
>no arguments
>build up to the time machine for seasons
>screenwriters realize that's probably jumping the shark and get cold feet
>all the build up amounts to nothing
>"just bee yourself" ending
The Zhang machine was the ultimate Red Team operation. The situation was tailor-made for a heist Ocean's Eleven style, I imagine they saw the idea as jumping the shark or something too close to science fiction for a story whose core value was "realistic and grounded".
But I would have liked to have seen it.
Sounds almost like Predestination
Go frick yourself
what's you problem dude?
It's the plot of the film
That's what I'm using the time machine for.
Never saw the movie version, but I love All You Zombies. Is this any good?
Not that good but ok enough i guess
The bastard also made dinosaur clones
>trans women
>played by a man
How did they let this happen?
Father Mukada is a fricking PRAG??
What movie/show?
Mrs Robot
The Marvelous Ms. Robot
Why didn't they get an actual troon to play the part? That seems bigoted.
The best troon/time travel kino is predestination. Actually a good story and sarah snook plays her role well.
> Korean Portlandia.
f-father Mukada?!
Makes sense, he always had a gay thing for Alvarez
This guy wasn't trans though. He identifies as male.
RIP Gok Wan
You're telling me Mr.Robot is about time travel and not a man living with undiagnosed schizophrenia? Kind of glad I dropped that show so early now. Like as soon as that one rich dude killed himself on TV, I knew it was all downhill from there and bounced.
No, Mr Robot is about a man living with undiagnosed schizophrenia who finds himself at odds with a chinese billionaire who is pouring a vast portion of his/her fortune into some device that may or may not be time travel, may or may not have to do with alternate dimensions. Whatever it was it didn't work, and almost created a nuclear accident.
I thought this was Mr. Robot? Does this asian man play gay in every role?
It does take an out of nowhere pivot to Chyna being the bad guy around season 2 and 3. Esmail almost comes off as a closet neocon
An army of faceless, nameless yellow men running around NYC in leather biker suits and killing Americans with impunity is Breitbart-esque yellow panic. The worst part is that you wouldn't even need Chinese operatives doing wet work. Truth is, after something as big as the collapse of New York financing, hundreds of F Society copycats and even hard militias would pop up like weeds in the aftermath. All China would have to do is give them guns and money. Basically China giving America a taste of it's own Century of Humiliation suffered from 1839-1949.
What we got was an infantile take that has as much nuance as Red Dawn. Esmail should've just stuck to 'billionaires bad' because he clearly has no idea how geopolitics, espionage, diplomacy, etc work. Shit, the PRC 'annexes the Congo' in the show... whatever the frick that is supposed to mean. But then again, maybe it was all a dream so that's why it's all so moronic ahhh!!!
No idea what you're even talking about, but this storyline can easily be improved:
>mtf troon builds a machine
>to go back in time and be born a woman
>it actually works
>she now is a ftm troon
literally the plot of predestination
You're implying a group composed entirely of transexual women will...breed?
No. I'm saying that when they're dead, they won't have to.
honestly I kind of wish that the main focus of the last season was Vera trying to figure out elliot, for me that was the best part of it and felt like what everyone would've wanted to see
also I wonder what it was like having paul fusco on set
