Can't be worse than S2 or S3.
I'm only on the first episode and I'm already perplexed by the amount of diversity casting considering it's set in fricking Alaska of all places
I don’t get the dislike for 3. Because of the Black person? There wasn’t any cringe “evil
white people” shit at all. I liked 3 separate timelines of his life
Beside timelines it didn’t “ape” season 1. There has to be some type of theme to a
show even a anthology . Season 2 is disliked because went off reservation. I like season 2 but it’s like The Sheila reject show than True Detective

The entire setting is the same and obviously trying to recapture the s1 feeling.
Season 2 is disliked because it was uncompromising kino. Any follow-up to season 1 that would have been widely enjoyed would have been a piece of shit.

Season 2 was disliked by people who can't understand the plot. Ask them about something like blackstone and watch them go off but when you show them a shady land grab right to their face they can't follow what's going on.

i wanted more time with the characters. 2 more episodes would have been nice. i like watching mixed character types interacting. its probably my favorite thing in detective shows. you dont even need an ensemble cast to do it:

Incorrect. Thank you, next question?

Almost all of the posts I have read about it are people saying they can't understand what is going on. You might be different but don't lie to me about everyone else. Anyone who comes to these threads knows this.

S2 is for people who have lived hard and taken lives. Not for those larping from their bedrooms that they're in the strike team.

Aye. Season 2 is for true warriors, who live and die by the katana.
Not enough Dorff. Too much emphasis on "super smart badass wife who could solve this case alone." Last episode was fricking terrible how they just wrapped up the case by telling the audience what happened with a quick summary
I liked that it took place in Arkansas, though.
The protagonist solving his decades-long case and finding the missing victim alive, but not knowing it because of his dementia, is a highly unsatisfying conclusion
the 30 days of night in alaska or whatever was literally my dream setting for a true detective season >It's cowardly and pathetic to ape s1 to win back the pleb audience after they got filtered by s2
That's this season, the amnesia stuff set it apart and was kino
Fellas, there are only two (2) episodes of the season left. That's a lot of shit they gotta wrap up in two hours. I have the feeling they're gonna try and make a second season of this shit.
I went into this optimistic enough, not like there's anything else airing right now I gotta watch, but wow what a disappointment it has turned into. I think through episode 2 I had hopes of it still being fine television. Now I don't see how this ends without the finale being rushed as frick and LOTS of one-eyed bear magic. Danvers will turn into a vessel for Navarro's injun incantations, I'd actually prefer gibberish at this point.
Can't be worse than S2 or S3.

here. I couldn't make it through half of episode 1 and I'm now watching S2 from the beginning again. You sure have some perseverance to make it that far
I think episode 1 was the best one so far, so I'm quite confident in saying you'd only be furious had you continued. Honestly, it doesn't bother me THAT much and I'm already 2/3 through it, I'm gonna finish. I consider myself open to trying new things and this way, having finished it, I'll be better at explaining the issues. Like I think its biggest issue so far is the dependence on magic and how overt they are about showing it. The entire Travis dance could have been us seeing NOTHING, the woman just goes outside, looks at the dark (as she sees Travis, but again, we don't), and walks out into it. It's scarier than a dude doing his interpretive dance.
The end of the season will be the killer showing up and being eaten alive by the one-eyed polar bear. I'm calling it now. Issa will take to Twitter to say "It's nature reclaiming its grip on WOmankind" or some such shit.
are the opening credits any good at least
You be the judge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxfNib_hNZo
Personally, I think it's too fast in the editing, but not the worst thing ever. It's just obviously not True Detective, it's so obvious this show was rewritten for the branding to get the viewership and it's a bit insulting to the viewers that HBO did it.
Shoulda got S3 of Raised By Wolves instead of this.
Every single fricking Billie Eilish single sounds EXACTLY the same so no. Frick no. I don't care that moronic women elevate her enough to win her awards for Barbie. Whisper singing isn't my cup of tea.

Whoever has been making the threads has been calling them that, which nobody does here. So I think maybe you already know the answer to this.
not really. shit dialogue, dumb characters, poorly written and slow moving plot. it is not a true detective season.

lol
Season 2 is ascended kino. Season 3 is okay at best but looks like a masterpiece compared to Night Country.
