It's the plot of wind river with a feminist revenge plot. The scientists get too drunk and rape Annie K, they kill her to silence her and blame it on the mine. They also harassed the cleaning ladies before, so they hatch a plot to kill the scientists and write the symbol on their head to make it seem like the vengeful spirit of annie (Blair saw her tattoo). In the end Navarro and Danvers cover it up to protect the women

The ghost stuff is just ghost stuff, they don't go further into explaining anything. The only bit we get is the spiral is a symbol of life and rebirth that has been coopted and corrupted by evil like the swastika

Kain from the forbes article said it is the most predictable, simple and stupid resolution you'd expect from this shit, so i'm inclined to believe it. He also said all the supernatural spoopy stuff is not elaborated on.

nta but here in Cinemaphile we've had people legit spoil a couple seasons of boardwalk empire and game of thrones. obviously fake spoilers are the norm to bit we also get good ones
Yeah that’s a possibility but if you think about it it’s really a lame and predictable plot. Considering the “female and indigenous-centric” approach HBO said this season would take I can believe that someone more movie-savvy that me would have figured it out.
No way they would have had an indigenous character be the bad guy so of course the bad guys ought to be white. And if you set it in a location where most of the locals are natives this leaves two possible scenarios: white cops or white out-of-towners. Or both. The hunting crew made of hillbillies would’ve been too predictable even for a moron like Issa, so she took the “White peoples’ Science is Le Evil because Capitalism” route: the lab guys are the main culprits with the white cops being the minor antagonists (they’re paid off by le evil corporation).
Danvers and Pierced Cheeks are of course not going to arrest local indigenous people because that’d be racist. So in the end they will either purposely bury the case and leave it as a “cold” one (like Navarro’s daughter) or blame some secondarily evil white guy (cop, hunter or both) and possibly kill him/them to make it look real (mirroring what Marty and Rust did in S1).

I’ve only ever watched the first season of True Detective. Which other seasons are worth watching? How is the new season shaping up to be?
Everything written by Pizzolatto is, at least, good, so the first three seasons. He received flack for the two seasons he made after the first one, but, as someone who dislikes most current TV series, I find them enjoyable and interesting enough to binge them in two days. The fourth season wasn't written by Pizza and it looks atrocious.

S3 attempts to be S1 and has overall a solid premise but eventually fizzles out and is overall weaker than S1 regarding:

>buddy cop chemistry
>decade spanning mystery
>the ending
it's watchable but mostly mediocre.
many people disliked S2 because it switched the eerie mystery in louisiana to a neo-noir story set in and around LA and other parts of california. it's a pretty solid show on it's own if you like the archetypical californian noir story but most people felt different when it came out. personally i liked it.

S4 was originally planned as a stand alone murder mystery show with paranormal elements before HBO execs decided to have it integrated into the TDCU, and it shows. it's pretty trashy as you can read up in this thread

That entire last scene was so fricking goofy. The Exorcist voice on the possessed guy, the spontaneous riot, the "I HACKED IT!" reveal, then this dumb fricking clip, then the context in which the clip was played. I still can't get over it. Best cringekino this season has delivered so far.
