        Will she say homie?

I just assumed she was some black actress, but apparently she's a boxer and she legit does claim she's indian.

However, she's clearly just black so I decided to research:
        >Reis was born in Providence, Rhode Island,
        >Reis claims Cape Verdean ancestry and identifies as being of Native American descent, specifically Cherokee, Nipmuc, and Seaconke Wampanoag ancestry.
        >Individuals who claim Cherokee descent do not meet the criteria necessary to claim Native American identity under the provisions of the American Indian Arts and Crafts Act,[22]
        >Cape Verde, an island nation in West Africa
        >She has incorporated the name Mequinonoag, which she translates as "many feathers" or "many talents," into her boxing nickname, "K.O. Mequinonoag."[13][11] The name was given to her by her mother, whom Reis identifies as being "the medicine woman of our Seaconke Wampanoag tribe."[13]
        >The Seaconke Wampanoag Tribe is not state-recognized.
        >Research revealed "that the majority of their mtDNA haplotypes belongs to West Eurasian and African lineages, thus reflecting the extent of their contacts and interactions with people of European and African descent.
        >"On the matrilineal side, all of the mDNA lineages are of either European or African origin,
        >"genealogical reconstruction showed that the single Native American Y chromosome was most likely introduced into the tribe by a Cherokee incomer several generations back."

She is as Native American as Elizabeth Warren.
There are so many Canadian native american actors they could have cast who would be demonstrably more related to a native Alaskan, but instead they picked a black boxer who can't act and who has spent her entire life larping as an Injun.

          >boxer

            Anonymous

Well I went into detail about the Seaconke claim which is most relevant to her because she said her mother is a wise old medicine woman.
I didn't list Nipmuc because there is no relevant reference to her having anything to do with Nipmuc. The wiki sources say a lot about her being Seaconke and a bit about Cherokee, but there's only 1 primary source mentioning Nipmuc so it didn't seem important to her.

            But anyway, here's them
            >The state of Massachusetts recognizes the Nipmuc Nation[8] while the federal government does not.[9]
            >At the time of the petition, the Nipmuc Nation group had 526 members.
            >The Bureau of Indian Affairs determined that only two percent of the current membership of the Nipmuck Nation group descends from the historical Hassanamisco Indians.

Sorry you simped for black chick buddy, maybe she'll learn to read by the time she sees your anonymous post.

How did indians blow up so much, before 2015 they didn't exist, then they protested a pipeline and now they are part of the pride flag and there are a hundred crime dramas in and around reservations.

            She's not even Indian
            No worries.

inuit people been using piercings on their face for a long time. tf are you talking about lmao.

Doesn't matter because she isn't an Indian.
            You're welcome.

i dont think that the black indian actress will be bad. i fear that jodie foster is playing an unlikeable c**t (so basically herself) and due to her fame will influence the story to her worldview.
i still hope its a good crime story but if im honest it just got downwards from season 1. maybe we get memes like casper knew this

She's just black, not indian. American Blacks are trying to erase native culture.
Glad to have been of help.

It's not just black lesbians but intentionally ugly black lesbians. Someone in Hollywood and the broader entertainment industry is pushing this very specific character archetype to make a statement, but I'm not sure what the statement is supposed to be.

        Anonymous

If the statement was meant to induce black fatigue, it's working. They could easily have done this properly with a quality female tribal police character like the one in the final season of Dexter.

As a S1 lover and S2+3 hater I am hopefully this will be good and spooky.

Aside from everything else seriously wrong with S2 and S3, the most important issue I noticed was the environments didn't seem oppressive or scary. LA? Kentucky or whatever? Now compare that to the weird rural places in Louisiana from S1.

Alaksa is a great setting for something like this. See like parts of Wind River (I Know it's WY but still). It's like that feeling of being really out there, on your own, with spooky shit happening. You can't get that when it's set in a megatropolis.

Season 1 was good because of the director and Pizzaman plagiarizing other; better writers. None of those things are in subsequent seasons, including this one
