This actually makes me curious about it. Checked Legacy of Monsters because of how bad they said it was and it was exactly the piece of shit they described.
there have been a few silly moments and some of the dialogue is cringe but the overall setting/ set up is pretty intresting
Not gonna shit all over it just because it has >Le strong wimmin
at least not quite yet

Let's be real, both S3 and S4 are member berries. Just because S3 wasn't explicitly referencing S1 doesn't mean it wasn't trying to ape everything about it in a poor attempt to overcorrect the S2 backlash. Meanwhile S4 at least has a new setting and dynamic but can't help writing explicit callbacks into the plot.
There is a world of difference between trying to capture similar atmosphere and buddy dynamic vs directly referencing characters, corporations and mythos like it's some kind of Marvel movie.

Queers have sexualized everything to the point that having normal friendships is impossible.
Love between friends must be erotic because they have destroyed the possibility of any other sort of love.
Coomers, all of them.
It's good but I don't know why they're wasting so much time on B plots and side character arcs when the season is so short. I understand character development and world building, but in a 10-12 episode show. Hell, even Slow Horses did it much better in their first season, and they only had 6 episodes.
Slow horses is based on a novel and written predominantly by a competent man (Will Smith). True detective S04 is a collection of shit ideas from the over caffeinated mind of a post wall woman with no talent. There’s a reason why it’s release was delayed me episode number reduced.
Are we just going to forget the only two good episodes of season 3 were the first two, and that things feel completely apart in the shootout with the Native American guy?
I havent forgotten which is why im going to watch the whole thing before making an overall assessment. I liked the first two episodes fine but S2 and S3 both started strong and then went to shit at varying speeds to ultimately unsatisfying endings
im waiting for the big reveal to be that they dug up some kind of ancient microorganism that made them all hallucinate somehow and that’s going to explain all the shit with seeing ghosts and the reindeer becoming scared and suicidal. The lady following her dead husband managed to survive by being a strong womyn
100% it’s going to be some ancient microorganisms that trigger during the final sunset of the year and cause hallucinations and shit.
The company that owns the mine also funds the research station, and the mining is causing the microorganisms to get into the water supply and infecting people drinking it. They’ve mentioned the “bad water” because of the mine in both episodes so far.
I wouldn’t even be surprised at this point if they try and do a Last of Us crossover with the microorganisms they’re researching.
It's pretty good. The girl's murder is mundane, but interesting in it's reveal.
The station mystery don't have a complete reveal, some things are left unsolved. But it's par for the course since the show was inspired by irl unsolved mysteries.
The abusive father cop is actually the unsung hero of the show, even if what he tried to do failed and he became a paranoid abusive wreck later. But it turned out that if he had succeeded, most of the town wouldn't be dead or insane by the end of the show.
Oh, and the whole personal drama/weirdness of the first 2-3 episodes is plot related. It's just that the way the season is structured is meant as a binge watch show, not a one episode a week show. It's a lot more coherent when watching it all in one go like I did.
But others that got to see it in full didn't even understand some of the plot. I mean wtf? It's a very easy plot to wrap your head around in the end. Some reviewers are just fricking stupid. Or they didn't like that most characters were not black and white good or evil and that good guys could provoke bad things and that bad guys could have a conscience.
>thugged up black cop b***hing about how Jodie Foster only cares about muh white men at the research staion >one researcher’s chinese, another is a turk, and another is some kind of mexican
What did she mean by this
>everyone acting moronic is actually okay because microorganism and/or poisoned water supply
Bad plot doesn't excuse poor writing.
what if they do something dumb like watchmen's "black people aren't violent at all, it's white man sorcery that makes them so!"? like they try to explain the toxic patriarchy is literally a virus or something
It doesn't have a message. It does have a theme, but no virtue signaling message. Women, men, whites and natives are portrayed in a positive and negative way. So is religion/folklore.
The drunk girl from episode 1 killed the girl. She called her bf/frick friend cop (the young cop's dad) for help. He was about the get rid of the body when he couldn't go through with it. He decided to give her death meaning by helping her get the mine looked at by stabbing the body with a miner tool. He did it for the dead girl, but also for his son/family since he was aware that the mine was fricking everything and making people sick. It's all about the blood, like he said to his son. He also knew that no one would get in jail for the girl's death, no proof of who could have done it except a generic 'it was the miners' suspicions would come out of it.
But it didn't work. Jodie buried the mine connection. The cop became abusive and paranoid. The drunk driver became a full time drunk. The mine continued to pump hit in the water. Jodie's not a bad guy, she truly believed that the mine was safe and that the girl was just crying wolf about the water.
And she was right. The water is a red herring. Black water=/=poison. Not always, anyway. It looks/smells bad, but it's not dangerous in this case.
The thing that is making people crazy is a mutated form of Prion Disease. They've all been eating human meat without their knowledge. It was done on purpose as an experiment by a fricked up part of the Tuttle cult that is all about doomsday and survivalism. They tried to make human meat safe to eat and tested it in Enis. It didn't work.
That would only fly if there was reports of people dissapearing on Enis, or a mountain of unsolved cases, and all pointed out to the place being very safe and quiet that's why Jodie Foster was transfered there
My mom really enjoyed s1 and loved Rust. She's studied acting and script at Strasberg in NYC when she was younger. Mom absolutely hates s4 and thinks the writing, editing, plot and acting is crap.
She also hated s2 but enjoyed s3, mostly due to the lead detective actors.
I personally believe Cinemaphile could write a less cliché script. >looking for a microorganism that can stop cellular decay >IN ENGLISH, NERD
I'm shocked they didn't do the pen and paper wormhole shit.
>I'm shocked they didn't do the pen and paper wormhole shit.
maybe they're saving that for when they throw a memberberrie for the spiraling galaxy rust saw in s1
The producer is a israeliteess who pretends to be a chug (she even got the mouth tattoos in her 40s) and the writer is someone who admits to knowing nothing about Alaska. The most interesting thing about night country is finding out just how bad the product of this combination will get.
She wasn't "bantering with the young cop" she was talking with the science teacher, who apparently knows what's happening at the research center when NO ONE ELSE in the town seems to know or care. The fact they were searching for the 'fountain of youth' makes it all the more moronic.

>and that dancing ghost was none other than Detective Rust Cohle's father
I remember Season 1. I remember Detective Rust Cohle. I remember Detective Rust Cohle mention his father back in Alaska in Season 1.

This season is so insanely bad.
This actually makes me curious about it. Checked Legacy of Monsters because of how bad they said it was and it was exactly the piece of shit they described.
That's how I ended up watching the most recent Dracula miniseries from the BBC, and still I wasn't ready for how bad it really was

No wonder it has only 6 episodes instead of 8

I'm thinking it's time to finally give TD season 3 a chance
Nope
The worst things that can be said about Season 3 is it had an unsatisfying end and some boring plotlines. Other than that its genuinely good TV.
The best thing that can be said about Season 3 is Stephen Dorff.
> Other than that its genuinely good TV.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahhahah no
He is right, you know
No, you’re not.
It's legitimately great.
Doesnt beat 1 of course, but few things do.

don't, it's like a parody of the first season

what stupid shit are we gonna see this week?
I am curious to see how a liberal woman portrays the TD gun fight
Will there be another comically revolting sex scene?
It's written by women for women so it's mandated to have a sex scene every episode
I was literally gonna say this

It will be to the ADHD phone watchers

no. so far there's been only a couple nods to season 1, but nothing that demands you to watch that either to understand what's being talked about
>thugged up black cop b***hing about how Jodie Foster only cares about muh white men at the research staion

mfw Jodie Foster blurted out "all men, huh?" when the other cop had named like two of the missing researchers
If you aren’t black, you’re white. That’s the new narrative
She's not rational. Everyone is acting weird. You'll find out why at the end of today's episode/beginning of episode 4.
It’s because of the microorganisms in the water supply or something right?

>But human meat is safe to eat. It's just brain matter that might be dangerous.
The brain is the best part.
Or so I heard...
you might be asking too much of Hollywood screenwriters
That would only fly if there was reports of people dissapearing on Enis, or a mountain of unsolved cases, and all pointed out to the place being very safe and quiet that's why Jodie Foster was transfered there
the tuttle are powerful so they can probably sneak in bodies from outside or something
>dissapearing on Enis
that's somehow more clever than the actual s1 easter eggs we've got
It's hilarious isn't it? Every cucked show/tv/movie blames white men and then pretends every race is fricking white

is speaky speaky words real or is funny lie lies from anon who think speaky speaky words dumb?
that's disappointing but not surprising
It's real.
It's just Jodie's character bantering with the young cop, but Cinemaphile is too autistic the get it..
all her lines are delivered like that, though, hard to tell when it's banter or just smugness
She wasn't "bantering with the young cop" she was talking with the science teacher, who apparently knows what's happening at the research center when NO ONE ELSE in the town seems to know or care. The fact they were searching for the 'fountain of youth' makes it all the more moronic.
What you don't understand is that most viewers are this stupid.
We're gonna need a lot more AI.
My favorite scene of hers is the one where she was unnecessarily angry.
this one?
>oh noooo im gonna ejacoooolaaateeee, nnnooooo dont make me cooooooom
The director doesnt seem to grasp the difference between male and female sexuality.
You cannot simply switch roles and expect it to work.
The whole schtick of this show is copying S1 and changing genders.
Women trying to write men never goes well.
I would came in like, 5 seconds if a woman did this to me
if you jerk off too much you can hold for like 5 min
Imagine having facial piercings as a cop. They don’t even wear earrings.
>in detective shows how do they show the detective is figuring something out?
>they place photographs on the ground around them and look at them.
>okay, lets do that.
They place it in spiral (subtle visual storytelling)
When they repeatedly said what Cole said, I subtly clapped.
How can we make people realize this character is crazy? Hmm perhaps a bunch of janky mysterious graffiti on the walls and a journal full of spooky sounding phrases and words repeated over and over?
kek I winced at the amount of times this happens in everything
are you season 4 watchers fully prepared to be laughed at and mocked when the whole season turns out to be inane, pozzed shit

I'm pretty sure they are trolling your ass
Those are shills.
It actually will get more pozzed than any of you can guess. The meltdown here is gonna be amazing.

Pure fricking tension in that scene. It was nice, please understand

"That's OFFICER T NIG to you, honkey.
Guys, how bad is it? Explain to me why it's bad without using the words woman, black, lesbian, piercing, SJW, woke and troony just to be sure.
Bad acting. Bad writing.
What is bad about it?
woke crap with gross fully clothed old people sex
It's the Rings of Power of True Detective.
It feels like a network drama.
Dialogues are so bad a lot of them should be added to that meme whiteboard list of banned quips.
>and that dancing ghost was none other than Detective Rust Cohle's father
I remember Season 1. I remember Detective Rust Cohle. I remember Detective Rust Cohle mention his father back in Alaska in Season 1.

Jews
I can't. Having said that, dialogue feels weird and they are ripping off Fortitude.
Too many prostitutes, Black folk, and dykes. The nigs cheek israeliteelery is stupid and it's way too PC. The whole thing is gender dysphoric as hell
>teacher says the words "cellular decay"
>Jodie goes "IN ENGLISH, DOC!"
Ok so the spiral and "Tuttle" reference are just a callback to S1 right? So its going back to the corrupt family funding some sex cult? Just like S1?
it's le Evil Corp Inc. of the Truedetectiverse
