Truman show

How can this studio run 24/7 for 30 years without down time?

I get that normal tv station does that too. But that sky, the sun and weather are all complicated and high-wattage systems. It's like running a centralized heater for a building for 30 years.

They live in an alternate timeline where Americans weren't scared off from nuclear power and they developed their nuclear technology throughout the cold war into the 90's.

They also on the brink of cold fusion. That is how. Power is a non-issue. They just lived in a better world than us.

the sun is off for the night so they could do maintenance and if something needed more time just knock out truman when he's asleep and fix it

    >homosexual has no idea how megaprojects of epic scale work IRL
First of all, entire world watches this show basically, so studio has basically all the money.

Didn't need it initially because he was just a baby, but made more money and reinvested it to make fake world bigger as he got older.

If you had that kind of money you'd just build whatever you had to in order to support infrastructure. Still get to focus it on what he actually sees, just like no actors in places where he doesn't go, so not as much power required as you think.

But even megastructure in real world has downtime for maintenance.

And in the real world you accommodate that in a myriad of ways when continuous operation is necessary. Like you wouldn't just take the whole Hoover Dam offline to fix a leak.

You just put out the latest videogame (also truman gets it a week before) and truman gets a week off, have a core group of guys on truman watch.

what did Truman mean by this?

I’ve always wonder why hire actors to follow preprogrammed routines for the day along with lines

why not just hire extras to live organically in the dome

it’s much more realistic show that way and Truman wouldn’t suspect a thing if everybody else was just living a normal life on set

      >it's an extra is brutally killed after climbing a prop telephone pole because he wasn't content saying his line and sipping his coffee at 3:02pm like he had done for years in the past right in front of Truman episode

      >it’s much more realistic show that way and Truman wouldn’t suspect a thing if everybody else was just living a normal life on set

Why would he suspect anything? That is his normal. That isn't strange to him because that is all he knows.

It only became a problem when he actually started to think

      1. Cost, as described above.

      2. Who wants to live in the dome when they have a real life and family outside?

      3. Same reason Disney Park characters aren't just working shifts that are 16 hours straight.

all the extras live in the dome already. they don’t clock out after their shift is over and leave day to day

Because that would make the show too real.
They kept the show fake so to justify Truman's escape.

why not just pay a bunch of ex-glowies(doesn't exist once a glowie always a glowie) to gang stalk a normie and film it with hidden cameras.

      >why not just hire extras to live organically in the dome
Because the director of the movie, Peter Weir, was an old school film director. His imagination was limited and could only go so far as imagining doing extra as a job. He couldn't have imagined the YouTuber scene 20 years later

Maybe there were power outages, but it's the only reality he knows so it's not like he would consider it strange. If someone is born in that world you could get them to believe anything you want, you could make them believe that the sun just turns off every now and then, they have no other basis of fact

They've should've got Cinemaphile mods/lurkers to run the show. No life = time to be told what to do, make "gotcha" threads and posts

The sun and weather can be turned off once Truman is indoor. They can keep him in toilet if they need more time.

It all happened in Trumans mind. Truman was a schizo.

all the special effects worked perfectly without maintenance because that's how Cristoff wrote it
