Are you sure? I don't think I've ever seen one
Weren't a lot of them drafted?

yeah pretty sure
>Weren't a lot of them drafted?
I don't know, I'd rather kill myself or go into hiding than just go to war.
I don't think you really get it. They have a way of molding you, of shaping your mind and body to that of a tool. Whether or not you accept it doesn't really matter. If you show up, you will be forced to undergo a change. That change might not make you what you perceive to be a soldier, but you won't be you. And plus, there's a lot of room for non-infantry.
>I don't know, I'd rather kill myself or go into hiding than just go to war.
Boy, you'd have been a lot of help against Hitler and Tojo. You disgusting little worm.
Id go to war to help Hitler just to save people from this israeli nightmare today
I stopped watching midway through the second episode. I probably just got tired of the war theme. I'm just not the kind of person who would go to war. I don't understand these people.
imagine invading a nation of incel neets
you wouldn't even need guns
>I'm just not the kind of person who would go to war.
Zoomers in a nutshell. Truly the worst generation.
Imagine wanting to go to modern war where you can be killed by some dyel homosexual using a computer 4 km away without even knowing it all to help some oligarch get a little richer while you earn minimum wage. War has been exclusively an occupation for homosexuals since gunpowder became wide spread. It's no surprise gay shit like uniforms and corporal punishment became standard once gunpowder entered the scene.
Bitter but true
Although i'd argue war started to suck more with the invention of picrel
>corporal punishment became standard once gunpowder entered the scene.
soldiers and auxiliaries were getting flogged and executed since before the birth of Christ
That's true. I'd say the real difference between ancient and pre-modern-modern armies is the need to standardize your soldiers and dehumanize your enemies. Consider that PTSD wasn't a think prior to the Great War. Clearly some aspect of their training/conditioning contributed to some inability to process or live with the aftermath of war
Most soldiers in history died to exposure and disease.
Is this supposed to be ironic? I genuinly cannot fathom someone thinking like this.
No. I'd rather watch Barbie again than this boring war crap.
>I watched a war series and didn't like the war stuff
Next, watch Star Trek and tell us how you don't like sci fi, aliens, and space ships.
ultragay zoomer
I'm not an op and just said I'm sick of the war theme. While I do like some movies with that theme, they have really outstanding directing and camerawork. This show for this series and a half looks pretty faded.
There's just not a lot to hook me into the show. I mean, the most interesting part is the interviews with veterans at the beginning of the episodes. Everything else moves at a glacial pace until an incomprehensible action sequence starts up. Who just got shot? Who fricking knows, none of these characters have been characterized enough for me to know or care
>There's just not a lot to hook me into the show. I mean,
What then, because there is no cheesy meodrama or marvel quips every five minutes?
>incomprehensible action sequence starts up. Who just got shot? Who fricking knows, none of these characters have been characterized enough for me to know or care
It's war. It's supposed to chaotic and confusing.
>Who fricking knows, none of these characters have been characterized enough for me to know or care
You're not supposed to cry like a baby at every death. I find it highly disturbing though thatbyou apparantly so desensitised to on screen death you don't even understand the significance of it.
>What then, because there is no cheesy meodrama or marvel quips every five minutes?
The entire first episode was like a shit version of the first half of Full Metal Jacket. It was boring and all shit I've seen before but better.
>It's war. It's supposed to chaotic and confusing.
I'm willing to accept that premise, but they also go through such pains to explain the context of what's happening before the fight that it seems odd to also make it impossible to follow as it's happening. Either have a 10 minute scene explaining the imminent engagement or make it impossible to follow what's happening. Doing both is stupid.
>You're not supposed to cry like a baby at every death
I'm not saying every death needs to be a dramatic send off of a character like it's walking dead, I'd just like to know WHO the frick died, which I never did.
>Doing both is stupid.
But that's how war is. They have generals and strategic planners coming up with detailed battle plans but the actual engagement is frenetic
Maybe something nice and clean where everyone stood in nice lines to shoot each other would be more his speed. Like pre revolutionary war stuff. Powdered wigs and gentleman's wars and all that.
Kek. I think its trolling anyway no one has such shit takes
>t. never met a woman
They don't count, they're allowed to have shit taste.
you Americans are so privileged and lucky to even have the option of "going" to war. If my country was at war it means a horde of raping murdering Russian orcs are coming to destroy everything. There would be no choice of going.
Yeah it's one of the reasons we're the greatest country on earth. It's as much to do with geography as with anything our people do.
Hence why we have to make up shit to be upset about like trannies or some dumb war in the perpetually death-lusty eastern Europe
Eh maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance. I just felt like I was missing a lot each episode
>Eh maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance. I just felt like I was missing a lot each episode
It actually gets better as the series go on. The episodes in the ardennes are tha absolute best.
But you have to watch it with the mindset that these are just ordinary 20-somethings in one of the biggest conflixts in history.
>murdering Russian orcs
if you're really caught up on dumb fantasy parallels, beware of voldymyrt!

The Pacific rendered Band of Bothers obsolete
>waah waah i want my western earopean theater
Just watch a Bridge Too Far it's literally perfect
>A LONG TIME AGO I WUSH IN DA NETHERLANDSH
SNAFU is quite tiresome as a character. It pulls me out of the series.
Abysmal taste. SNAFU is a bro
I made it to the scene where they had ketchup sauce and army noodles then puked them up whilst jogging.
This is why attention span became a meme for everyone who looks at what zoomers became.
Maybe I'm just a low attention span brainlet, but I loved the Sopranos and having a low attention span is usually the criticism people make of people who didn't enjoy it.
same
Can't keep up with the cast? what are you 80+? In today's tv world casts have only gotten bigger. Man/ female/ black / white / token Asian, random gay. If you can't keep up with BoB you can just stop watching tv.
God I hope this is a bait thread
>Battles are confusing
tell everyone you've never seen combat without telling everyone
Look at captain america here
>not rooting for the arctic nations
what a gay
I've never seen combat and I'm proud to say that lol
That's an odd requirement for watching a tv show
There's a bunch of characters that (at least up to the second episode) get very little characterization yet I'm seemingly expected to know who everyone is. They might as well all be faceless soldiers at this point aside from the guy from office space
Sorry to disappoint. I wanted to like it
REEEE why won't you go to some shithole country to die for no reason vietnam iraq korea and ukraine are super important and worth your life because.... they just ARE, okay?!
>There's a bunch of characters that (at least up to the second episode) get very little characterization yet I'm seemingly expected to know who everyone is.
No you're not, the main characters from future episode tend to show up in the background or as minor characters in previous episodes. And every episode is fairly self contained, so you don't have to 100% keep track of everyone throughout the series outside of Winters and 2-3 other guys whoze name I forgot
The best show ever made
You might have legit brain issues if frickin BoB is too hard to follow lol
I don't like American world war 2 movies because they were the bad guys in that war and Fuhrer is my hero
People falling for bad bait
>Sledge's dad straight up tells him that war isn't like his comics
>Sledge enlists anyway, gets irrevocably traumatized by the experience
>
The US popping in for a war no one in the west understood to begin with at the time for literally nothing is very American
We were invited by the Japanese
I miss the times when troll posts were simply ignored.
For frick sake, the state of this site.
Not a troll. Find some other way to cope with the fact that not everyone will enjoy your boomer shit
i liked the spaghetti
How can't you keep up with the huge cast when in the 20 years since it came out almost everyone in the cast became an instantly recogniseable actor?
Even characters who only had 1 or 2 scenes were played by actors like Tom Hardy, Simon Pegg and James McAvoy
Autistic facial blindness. The only two I recognized were the guy from office space and the guy from friends
you didnt recognize Jimmy Fallon?
Hilariously, no I didn't.
here you go
