Turner executives Brad Siegel, Jamie Kellner, and Stuart Snyder are infamous for a number of reasons.

>Kellner made WB add Elmyra to Pinky and the Brain, and cancelled Animaniacs because Pokemon was cheaper to license.
>Kellner made Toonami take Sailor Moon off and replace it with Hamtaro.
>After working at Turner, Snyder moved over to WWF and became their president. In an inside job, Snyder asked his old friends Siegel and Kellner to take WCW programming off Turner networks, as to decrease the brand's monetary value. Stu's boss Vince McMahon was then able to buy WCW at a greatly reduced price, and now had a monopoly over the wrestling industry.
>After returning to Turner, Snyder was appointed president of Cartoon Network. He added live-action shows to CN (oxymoron) and cancelled Toonami.

Hey, Pokémon is the biggest franchise in the world and Hamtaro was way more kid-friendly than Sailor Moon. Hamtaro attracted both girls and boys while Sailor Moon is very much a girl's anime.

Yeah but some lamented how it killed the silver age of WB animation (Tiny toons, Freakazoid, Animaniacs etc)

        Silver is pushing it
        I'd say bronze.

The irony is that's Sailor Moon's Japanese voice actress.

Right, is that why they only aired one season of hamtaro?

Remember, Stuart Snyder was a literal who in the industry whose role in the company up to that point was selling satellites to huehue's. They put him in because of his literal nobody status after those morons in Boston pissed and shit themselves over a nite-brite. They needed to show they were making a 'sincere effort to change the corporate culture' there and not put in an insider.

Live action was started under Jim Samples. Snyder continued his direction for a bit but largely abandoned it by 2010 and instead revived it and western animation with Flapjack and then everything that spun out of it or was picked up in its wake i.e. Adventure Time and Regular Show and all the people and shows that came from them.

Samples killed CN for a while because he wanted it to be Nickelodeon. Christina Miller turned it into the Teen Titans Go Network. Snyder, in comparison, was clearly better.

Snyder never forced LGBT shit on kids

Maybe Snyder rejuvenated CN, but he's also partially responsible for the wrestling industry going to shit.

Also you're wrong about Hamtaro. Hamtaro was forced onto Toonami by Samples because he thought it would be the next Pokemon. The Toonami crew hated the idea and even did a promo more or less shitting on having it forced on them.

Samples is the one who moved Toonami to Saturday nights and had Miguzi made because he thought Toonami's audience was too old and in general consigned all the action programming to that Saturday night slot. He basically got rid of the anime and DCAU while gradually running down the Cartoon Cartoons in favor of cheaper, shittier French shows i.e. Totally Spies and Code Lyoko. Samples was fricking awful.

Samples' CN was still great in 2001-2005. His 2005-2007 was weaker but he did greenlight Chowder and Flapjack at least.

Samples was basically a Kellner yes-man and did what he asked (i.e. forcing Hamtaro). However Mike Lazzo was still around in the 2001-2003 period which is why those years still had the "classic CN" spirit.

By 2004, Kellner left CN, Lazzo left CN to only run Adult Swim full-time, and Samples now had full creative control. The classic material that Lazzo wanted to keep on the main CN (Toonheads, Popeye Show, Looney Tunes) was moved exclusively to Boomerang, Toonami moved to Saturdays in favor of Miguzi, older Cartoon Cartoons ended, etc. This is why you often heard claims of "CN died in 2004".

The most tragic part of what happened to WCW was instead of Vince turning it around and making it a gold mine of storylines for years to come, he fricking buried the whole thing. Wrestling's never recovered from it.

Of course he buried it. The bottom line for Vince is his own company and destroying all competition.

      >Hall and Nash leave WWF for WCW
      >WCW runs an "invasion" angle
      >WCW are technically using Hall and Nash as WWF characters and Vince Sue's for trademark infringement
      >this leads to the law suit being settled with a stipulation that if WCW were ever to go out of business, Vince could buy it for pennies on the dollar
You think Snyder knew about this?

Sailor Moon ran out of episodes anyways by the time they took it off, they didn't want dub Sailor Stars at the time because of the genderswapping stuff.

Not to play devil's advocate but.
WCW at the time was at an all time low, sure there where plains to revive it, but after you have a writer as your champ, the damage was done. This was a mercy killing.
As for Sailor Moon, there is no way in hell Cartoon Network or any American network were going to air the last season, the Star Lights where at the time too problematic.
