Based, only the most annoying people call things 'horny' unironically

Why did this movie have to be set in 2002? Even if it's based off some Canadian chink's mundane coming of age life, most of this shit would still pass as a movie set in 2022 if you replace the flip phones with smartphones and the homosexual boy band with the even gayer K-Poop asiatic boy bands.

What's even funny is that the main character doesn't have a character arc but the over protective mother does.

      >Mei doesn't have an arc
      Fricking wow
Media literacy is well and truly dead

Saying Mei doesn't have an arc is like the stupidest thing you can say really.

        Who cares?
No, really, why the frick is this something you think about?

Because I just wanna relive the glory of trolling Turning Red threads. And so far you're participating.

Then you should have begun the thread with

Then you'd just have Big Mouth with better looking art styles. Also, late 90s and early 00s stuff is trendy so why not hop on the trend if you're Pixar.

Also like... Domee Shi was 13 in 2002.

That's why a lot of older millennials who are in the arts are focusing their artistic attention on the early 00s. They're revisiting their teen years in artistic form. I'm sure when the younger millennials and older zoomers age into their mid to late 30s, we'll start to see more cartoons, comics, and games about the late 00s and early 10s.

Ins't bugs life hornier? I remember this entire scene were someone niece touches some boy while they are watching a movie or gets heavily implied? I don't remember exactly, a while since I watched that movie. Is one of the few scenes I remember vividly.

Idk what you’re talking about but it’s not A Bugs Life, that movie has no humans minus two silhouettes shown for like 5 seconds.

Why is it ok and cute for kids stuff to be “horny”, but when M rated games or R rated movies do it it’s “gross”, “immature” and “offensive”?

I think there is a sex scene defense force for movies like Oppenheimer now. I think the same people who defend sex scenes are the same ones who defend horniness. Not sure about the vidya though

Oppenheimer was a manprostitute, the sex scenes made sense.

          So is Airplane
MPAA ratings are about content warnings
          >Are you sure a movie that's all about growing up and nostalgia for NSYNC is targeted at post-puberty women that grew up in the 2000's?
          Yes you idiot.
Also the horniest it gets is a bad drawing of an animu mermaid and a tex avery gag. Stop being such a homosexual.

PG now and PG from before PG-13 even existed are not the same

Cool story bro, glad you're skating right past that MPAA ratings aren't the same as target demo. I accept your concession.
What in turning red deserves a pg-13 rating

I never said Turning Red deserves a PG-13 rating. I did point out some crazy parents who thought that. I also think Turning Red is a movie suitable for and even aimed at kids 8 years old and up.

Animation is for children. They should have made a live action film.
