Avatar re-re-release made more money than the Endgame re-release
It literally beat shilled-and-marketed-to-hell-and-beyond Don't worry darling at the box office on its debuting weekend
Endgame was rereleased? Didn't it come out like last year?
Their chief Cinemaphile marketing exec got conscripted to fight for his motherland.
>literally zero hype.
FRICKING HATE AVATAR WITH ALL MY GUTS
>all caps rage
There are daily threads here about it. Jannie hates Avatar though and keeps deleting them
>no 3D without glasses
frick that, I was hoping Jimbo would bring the new cinema tech with this movie, and what to do we get? shooting movies underwater? who gives a shit?
>zero hype
what even is 'hype'? how do you quantify hype?
if you judge a movie's popularity by the amount of people in your social circles talking about it, then your understanding of 'hype' is very, very limited.
Sure heres an example, me and my family had to went to the cinema 3 times till we finally got to see avatar 1, it was always sold out for months after release. Do you feel that hype now?
It's going to be like Matrix 4 where 2 weeks later a thread will be in the catalog saying "remember, this came out" and it will be the only thread
Nah, you better get ready for months of constant avatar threads filling the catalog. It'll be more overwhelming than all the she-hulk, rangz, house of dragons spamming combined.
It will make more money than any movie in the history of mankind adjusted for inflation included.
Last digit is how many billies.
>Two and a half months till this shit comes out
for real? I had no idea. good job marketing dep.
after watching the first one tho, I don't think I will even give this one a try.
You're not lurking enough then, since there's a daily countdown thread to its release.
I hide all those threads, because the number of days until release changed randomly so I thought it was just trolling.
also they kinda just looked like troll posts.
It's accurate now and they're fun. It's where anons who are actuay hyped for it congregate.
>daily spam thread that receives the same generic spam responses and that skipped like 50% of the days already if not more
NO HUMANS KILLING ALIENS NO BUY
I'm just hyped to see the humans back, they are prepared this time and gonna frick some Na'vi shit up
>zero hype.
You sound like you've been smoking some mariana
when James Cameron wrote the script, he visited the marijuana trench
People don't care about Avatar? It left no lasting trace in culture? It's all true but Avatar 2 will have no competition in theatres so it's going to be successful.
when do you think they'll start releasing the upcoming comics, considering they link avatar 1 and 2 they'd have to get them all out before avatar 2 at least. The previous comic runs were one a month, but I don't think they'll do that this time.
So maybe November?
late october/early november would make sense if they release one issue a week
It'll break even or a bit above the budget, but it won't be wildly successful like Titanic and Avatar 1 were. 4 & 5 are not going to be made.
>It'll break even or a bit above the budget, but it won't be wildly successful like Titanic and Avatar 1 were. 4 & 5 are not going to be made.
Until this year, I didn't think Avatar 2 was getting made.
Poor Jimmy releasing his movie in the middle of a great depression and looming ww3. Who knows maybe Avatar 2 is the movie to heal all our wounds and world peace is achieved.
What did you expect? Cameron was too much of a pussy to challenge the mouse wanting him to keep Avatar out of the way of Avengers and Star Wars, and then suddenly Disney owns FOX and Avatar.
And in the meantime people who liked the first just lost interest during the long wait.
Saw the rerelease in AMC imax and it was abominable how much they fricked up the audio and the 3D (and did not do HFR at all). I wonder how many theaters are going to completely frick up implementing the required tech because they don't care or don't think it's worth the cost. I predict some controversy over this.
What if it gets delayed again
I'm not remotely interested
When the first one came out everyone was talking about it for months before the release and everyone I know went to see it and liked it. It was kind of like with the hobbit movies, everyone was looking forward to it. I guess there was a little of the same for endgame but not that much. I haven’t heard anyone talk about a movie or show after that though and none of my classmates even knew a new avatar was coming out soon and their reaction was meh
Idk if it’s corona, the prices going crazy or that all movies the last 5 years have been shit that’s made people so mellow but it’s difficult being a kino enthusiast
It's because the original one was popular because of it's graphics, which at that point nothing was at the same level. The story was shit.
Now, almost every studio with lots of money can do the same or even better effects than Avatar 2, so of course there's no hype at all.
Basically, the first movie was a glorified tech demo
They are going to increase the hype closer to release, and they are banking on curiosity and word of mouth which did most of the work for the original movie.
