It's called a rape kit, dna evidence, cctv footage. You know other means of gathering evidence, of which there is lots.
There are many, many circumstances where rape kits can't be completed and other evidence can't be obtained. Direct testimony is evidence. It might not be enough evidence in some cases, but it counts as evidence. Discounting it as evidence would be the fricking stupidest thing possible, and it would have ramifications in every type of case, criminal and civil.
