Unicorn had a cast of almost chosen-one people doing shit supposed to change the entire world, Narrative has a cast of broken people who are not even every talented, doing something that's almost inconsequential in the universe. Zoltan even directly says Newtypes being the future of humanity is bullshit.

pretty much, Narrative is the dregs and remnants fighting each other in the belief they can force a miracle, and the ultimate message is Newtypes have not fixed a single damn thing that wasn't caused by them in the first place

The entire OYW was caused by a "manic pixie super ultra mega powerful" Newtype that could see 100 years into the future and could predict dead people could came back from another world with their dead technique so let the OYW happened so it could lead to CCA and Unicorn and created the Phenex for her to put her soul into so she could become the god who can patrol the space.

Did you forget the ending where it was revealed that Rita had seen so far into the future in their childhood that she orchestrated everything so she could pilot the Phenex and even drag Jona and the chinese girl into the conflict all so they could stop the Neo Zeong II? Fukui even confirmed in interviews that they became a perfect newtype at the end just like Banagher, although that should've been obvious to anyone watching it.
Rita was the only one truly powerful. And was giving her powers only temporarly to Jona and Chinese b***h.
Neo Zeong 2 was a beast of a machine but Zoltan himself wasn't a very strong pilot, he was carried by the machine.
All the cast of the movie as a whole are depressed fricks. And Jona is probably even more depressed by the ending considering he lost everything in life and wasn't even given the choice to die and be with his friends.

That's almost every Gundam. Judau and Seabook are the only spacenoids. If you want to count Loran and Bellri you can too, but Bellri is the only one that has any newtype shit for him and he was raised on Earth anyways.
