Ultimate Invasion might just be the most underwhelming comic I've ever read. Three issues of nothing happening. This is all so pointless. What is worse is that it has nothing to do with Ultimate Marvel.
It's All Fucked Shirt $22.14 |
UFOs Are A Psyop Shirt $21.68 |
It's All Fucked Shirt $22.14 |
Well it’s a Hickman comic, anon. What did you expect?
worse than dark crisis? well dark crisis at least had this kino scene
That's infinite crisis dingus
You mean Infinite Frontier
NO SHIT SHERLOCK. frick hickman and frick homosexuals who are buying this drivel
The solicits said Doom would appear. What's his deal in it? Is Ultimate Kang just Future Tony?
did they change ultimate kang from sue storm? and as two different realities show nothing good ever comes from sue storm ending up with ben grim
Dunno anon, don't ask me, I haven't read the issue yet. Which is why I was asking OP. But I saw this variant cover some days ago, so I knew this new Ultimate Kang was far more Iron Man-y, which is why I'm guessing he's a Stark this time around.
Considering how Kang is a descendant of Nathaniel Richards, a character Hickman is obsessed with, I'm surprised Hickman only ever used him once in a single issue of Avengers where all he did was get angry at a time travelling Steve Rogers and fail to stop him.
Yeah, strikes me as weird too how little he's used him in all of his runs. Guess he finds him too goofy looking and Bargain Bin Doom.
>Doom is Reed.
What? How? So all this issue is is just for Ultimate Kang to appear in the last page and set up the next one? Christ, talk about dragging it out.
>Tony is a teenager in this.
Yeah, I saw the previews/read the previous issues. Figured there was gonna be some timetravel going on.
Not explained at all.
Jesus... 4 issues of exposition, the first one costing 10 bucks, just for a rushed ending in 4. I'm a fan of Hickman's autism, but this isn't even that, this is the very epitome of a cashgrab rushjob.
Don't worry, the fourth issue will also cost $10.
Gotta get Ultimate Universe one-shot to actually see the new Ultimate universe.
>Not explained at all.
Could he be the Reed that is from this universe?
Since Maker is a separate person who has jumped over from multiple timelines and doesn't really belong here?
So he's pulled a whole Man in the Iron Mask thing
Yep. It's a merged timeline if I'm getting the gist of it, so this is Reed.
Be careful with that speed reading.
What does inactive even mean? I'm curious that he directly mentioned both Hank and Janet
they don't have powers or never did and are living normal mundane lives
To which it’s a set up for their newer storylines in this universe? I’m just seeing this inverse as something that maker wanted but loses it after it gets forcefully rebooted and shit. I’m not wanting THIS to be my expected new world
It lists Reed as Controlled
Can you blame people for ignoring the shitty charts and data pages
Hickman actually did use Immortus one other time, as part of Nathaniel Richards' backstory where he set up a death game where every Nathaniel in the multiverse had to kill each other. Which if you think about it for just 5 seconds makes no sense since that means Immortus is endangering his own existence, so clearly Hickman either didn't know or didn't care about Kang's ancestry.
>makes no sense since that means Immortus is endangering his own existence
Reed was already born at that point so it really would not
It would actually, because Reed isn't Kang's direct ancestor, it's his half-brother that Nathaniel sired when he was an old man with white hair.
Doom is Reed. Tony is a teenager in this.
Nothing happens this issue.
post the rip
Is that the new one? That's upsetting, I just want some Ultimate action.
It reads more to me like a setup storyline to me. I like Hickman, but I do agree it feels a bit slow paced.
Keep in mind how expensive the book is
$5.99 for those who don't know
Blame Marvel for that BS.
so HOX/POX but we already know he pretty much done with the ultimate universe after doing the set up
A lot more depth in HOX/POX, though. Maybe Marvel said write this and we'll give you GODS?
>Maybe Marvel said write this and we'll give you GODS?
the timeline does not match up for that simply because GODS was first teased at SDCC last year when Cates was in theory still writing Ultimate Invasion.
Right, but Cates is out of the picture and presumably Marvel needed a big name attached to this and GODS expanded on?
Hickman comics always suck his fans are morons who think they're smart
Any guesses for creative teams of the new Ultimate line?
Stegman and Cates on ultimate Spider-man if i had to make a random guess
Ultimate Black panther I think will be Hickman's book since he seid in the past he has a story for black panther which probably would not work in 616 anymore anytime soon
no idea for Ultimates and Ultimate X-men
