I only have about 600 movies and I have a hard time finding particular movies already. I even bought two copies of Robocop by mistake because I didn't know I already had it.

I came in here to say this. I just torrent any movie I want and save it on a NAS. With a backup HDD.
Streaming: israeliteflix or whatever will remove it.
Physical copies: your house burns down and you're fricked.
Torrents and digital storage with backups: unlimited powah.

      Based. Physical media is superior

Downloads are crap quality. Even 10/10 does not match DVD birate. The only quality digital files are the ones you rip yourself at highest uncompressed duplicate qual. That’s never a DL.

Literally no one is expected to pay $10 for every single movie they watch. Before streaming they had this thing called television.

I mostly buy things that are hard to find elsewhere. Old movies, obscure films, cult movies, foreign stuff, etc.

I also appreciate the fact that a lot of movies would not be available anywhere if it weren't for physical sales driving companies to rescan and restore the film elements to an HD standard. Sometimes they even work with a director to recut a film, like Scream Factory finding lost footage from Nightbreed and allowing Clive Barker to make his Director's Cut

I haven't bought a movie in over 10 years. I won several hundred films though.

Where did you win them? Guessing a claw machine, perhaps some sort of online sweepstake?

    >start collecting movies
    >love getting limited editions and box sets with nice packaging
    >eventually it just becomes stacks and stacks of movies that takes up my whole room
    This is the one downside
