>Dark monsterverse is coming.
its already confirmed monsterverse is not happening
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mummy_(2017_film)#Cancelled_franchise
It's complicated. They cancelled plans for a shared franchise but then they turned everything upside down and now it's coin to be a monster division of Universal Pictures. They are trying again but this time it won't fail because there's no push for shared continuities. They will just release multiple monster movies and let everything happen naturally.
Demeter isn't from dark universe, it's just an adaptation of Captain Log from Dracula book. It was in production for 12 years while dark universe was announced 5 years ago. However Universal is still trying to do this monster universe thing with other monster movies. For example Nic Cage is supposed to play Dracula in his own film.
My friend said that they're gonna break up the Dracula storyline. The next movie will be a prequel about Jonathan Harker being trapped at Dracula's castle and escaping. After that it will cover Dracula terrorizing London.
The Last Voyage is not related to Renfield or The Mummy, however it may be a first installment in Dracula multi movies project. Everything depends on box office.
Not likely. Renfield bombed.
Cage is supposed to play Dracula from modern day time line. This Demeter one is from vintage time line. The dark universe is no longer one single cinematic universe. Now it's a collection of franchises with multiple time lines. Franchises will not mix between each other.
Dracula Untold is completely dead. Mina spin off is not going to happen. Cancelled for good.
The Mummy world is supposed to follow own story, with The Scorpion King and possibly other ancient stuff, if happens - this time line is codenamed "Old gods" but not much is going on there.
Renfield world will follow own path with Cage Dracula film where he is supposed to meet Van Helsing - but this depends on Nic Cage contract.
The Invisible Man will follow more 'technology' based line with no supernatural stuff at all.
Frankenstein is one big unknown. Same with The Wolfman. Wolfman producers want to work on bigger universe saying that Wolfman was the character that basically created Universal monster mash films.
Some movies may be just one off takes, with no plans for sequels. For example Nosferatu.
This is all I know. It's very dynamic, nothing set in stone. A lot can change. Main focus is to release monster movies with no worries about shared connections as these will happen naturally.
Wait a second, according to the deal that Nolan signed with universal, the studio couldn't release any movies for a month to benefit oppenheimer. What happened here?
not even sailor, that would actually make sense, but no, he's not a sailor, he's OXFORD university doctor
thing is I wouldn't give a shit if it was a modern day setting like Renfield but it just sticks out like a sore thumb in a period setting and is laughably forced
Demeter is about to flop harder than any previous film. It may be a bigger bomb than Renfield. And for some reason these morons thought that The Mummy, which made 410 mil, was a big flop. Meanwhile Demeter, with similar budget, is not even going to make 50 mil.
This is so wildly inconsistent. I agree it's simpler to just count the movies featuring the actual gothic horror icons as part of the cycle. It still leaves us with 26 movies from 1931 to 1956.
>This is so wildly inconsistent.
Universal horrors were inconsistent as frick. They gave no shit about continuity and they were full of mistakes. The Mummy's Curse ends with our mummy sinking in a swamp. In next film the same swamp they revive the mummy from is now in a completely different state, miles and miles away. This happens all the time.
It's a good chapter but I agree it's stupid to make an entire fricking movie based on one chapter
Also they are absolutely not gonna kill off the black gary stu MC so that deviates from the book where everyone dies
>Also they are absolutely not gonna kill off the black gary stu MC so that deviates from the book where everyone dies
They'll justify it by having the final survivor go overboard to fulfill the empty ship moment.
If they’re gonna go around milking whole movies out of individual chapters, then maybe there could be potential in a Bloofer Lady movie that focuses on her eating kids and having her grave staked out by Seward and Van Helsing.
I’ll agree that I’d like to see a closer adaptation of the book for a change since every single movie seems to feel the need to change things around.
But at the same time, I don’t see why a deep dive into a particular segment can’t still be accurate to the book. If anything, that should make staying accurate in sone ways easier, since a lot of stuff needs to be cut just for run time if you’re gonna try to cover the whole novel.
Hey guys…I feel like this belongs on /b/ but here it goes I guess. I think about feces constantly, like I enjoy the way it smells, I like the texture, but im too chicken to taste it. I have gone into a few public bathrooms, mostly QuikTrips and get real close to the bowl someone has painted and take a massive whiff but I can never really bring myself to taste it. I guess my question is do fetishes normally start this way? or does it take time to fully immerse

Old news from 2019. They again copyrighted Dark Universe for their new theme park this year.

Dark Monsterverse sounds like those "after dark" stories in the comic books except for the Monsterverse.
we already know how the voyage of the demeter ends
dracula kills everyone and runs onto land as a big dog
The black guy lives.
Blacula: Origin of Darkness
>"Can ya dig it?"
Niggsferatu
>dracula kills everyone
Not the doctor
Looks like one of those movies that will get negative reviews but will gain a cult following 10 years from now
Can't wait to see it
looks like shit that only shills will blather about
Rogue One.
>watch trailer
>looks interesting
>black person
Hollywood is dead
Just frick off with the dumb universes already
Marvel has ruined movies
>it's all practical and no CGI slop.
No way.
CGI ruined movies so much that even if someone tries to do practical effects they are believed to be CGI.

if gizmodo said so, it must be true.

>standalone nic cage dracula
I wish. They absolutely wasted him.
>title is more than 1 short word
dead on arrival

Is Nic Cage still Dracula?
Yes.
Not likely. Renfield bombed.

Is this the movie where he kills everyone violently?
I wanna see an old western prequel about Quincey Morris fighting chupacabras.
Wait a second, according to the deal that Nolan signed with universal, the studio couldn't release any movies for a month to benefit oppenheimer. What happened here?
you should have linked OP, now it just looks like you're accusing your own post of being paid content
>b-but theres a black maaaaan
>Dracula sucks his blood, gets AIDS
>this time it's all practical and no CGI slop
There is a Black, are those the practical effects you are telling me?
>THE WORLD IS A VAMPIRE
nope. cant watch it after that craptastic trailer
Hollywood really can’t stop with the token black guys they must have them on speed dial lol
>in de bioscoop
>Movie takes place in the 19th century on a ship
>Protag is a black sailor because... because.
No thanks israelites, enjoy your bath
not even sailor, that would actually make sense, but no, he's not a sailor, he's OXFORD university doctor
Yup, that's much worse. I shan't be watching
He is a graduate from Cambridge
thing is I wouldn't give a shit if it was a modern day setting like Renfield but it just sticks out like a sore thumb in a period setting and is laughably forced
this is going to flop simply from people not knowing the title
tracking under 10m opening
budget close to 100m
flop confirmed
>Dark monsterverse is coming.
Yeah they've been saying that for a while now.
Demeter is about to flop harder than any previous film. It may be a bigger bomb than Renfield. And for some reason these morons thought that The Mummy, which made 410 mil, was a big flop. Meanwhile Demeter, with similar budget, is not even going to make 50 mil.

I kinda wonder why they don’t just “remake” London After Midnight.
Like they did in the 1930s? It sucked then it would suck now.
God damn Van Helsing with Hugh Jackman was awesome
that movie was criminally underrated
the trailer looks like heavy CGI, but a dark boat setting on the water and raining is a perfect cover for practical effecrs.
>making a whole movie about the part of “Dracula” where he’s on the boat, aka the most boring part of the whole novel
What? It's one of the best parts. It, the opening in the castle, and the ending where they use knives to pry the casket open are all awesome

He lives but nobody believes him because they're all racist.
what racism, it's set in a alternate universe 19th century where blacks can go to oxford and become doctors
don't you get it? there's always racism against black people who are also hired for all kinds of positions without anyone taking issue with it.
They might contrive some reason for him to fake his own death.
I like the part where they stake Lucy.
If they’re gonna go around milking whole movies out of individual chapters, then maybe there could be potential in a Bloofer Lady movie that focuses on her eating kids and having her grave staked out by Seward and Van Helsing.
They won't. This movie will be a massive flop, and with 12 years of development, they will memory hole it immediately.
or maybe just make a version that's actually faithful to the book with no added bullshit, what a "novel" concept, hahah get it?
Same for Frankenstein
I’ll agree that I’d like to see a closer adaptation of the book for a change since every single movie seems to feel the need to change things around.

The whole book really is pretty good.
Lucy chapters aren't bad. They're actually one of the creepier parts of the book
>bioscoop
kino
>THE LEGEND OF DRACULA IS BORN
>400 years after his glory and he's a washed out shell of a being living amongst the ruins of his ancestral home

It looks good but I can't justify going to the theater to see it.
Will just catch it on streaming.
