I swear if boo was the one fated to die...

nawls was kinda close but it leaned really heavily into the multimedia aspect to the point it kinda felt like more of a walking simulator game sometimes and not a webcomic.

I wouldn't say that, but it doesn't use pictures + words the way a comic does. Instead it's prose supported by (usually single) illustrations, all paced like an old Sierra game.

Okay so this just occurred to me. This isn't even the first time we've seen Sette's journey into the khert be represented by her breaking the fourth wall. And that's all very symbolic and metaphorical due to the nature of her literally breaking into the underpinnings of her reality.

But like, is that it? I've never even stopped to think if any of this is actually meant to point to the khert and its relationship with the setting of the story actually being something like a webcomic. At least in the sense of like, maybe why the khert exists has something to do with like, I don't know, weird gods looking for a good time. Something Animal Man-y, I mean. Actually thinking about that, there's another parallel there too in pick related.

I don't know, probably not. But it just struck me that I've never even stopped to think whether there might be more than gags here.

Not that I seriously think Animal Man shit is going on here, but it's fun to notice similar meditations on art and human narratives. We really do seem to hang onto the worst shit, don't we?

Honestly, feel like Unsounded is going somewhere like this- what are the Creators (the gods that Lady I talks about) if not Authors? Ashley herself? The comic has a lot of talk revolving around the purpose of memory, history, stories- in what holding on to suffering and joy means- and the purposes of it all. Ashley has also said the choices in this chapter are pretty out there, and may not work with everyone

Hmm. We know what Ilganyag wants with the Black Tongues, with Anadyne, with the Silver, with Prakhuta, with Duane... but what's the plan for Sette? We know she's somehow connected to Ilganyag but I don't think we've properly seen how. Nor do we know what Ilganyag wants with her at this moment.

Idk, Sette and her fricked up furry brother probably came from Ssael's seed and Sessine's cloaca or head (like Athena from Zeus) if I had to guess, with the puzzle peices we have right now. But I've never been accused of being insightful. Sette is Illganyag's mistake.

      Anonymous

      >So Illganyag is definitely Sette's mom,
Not in a physical sense. Most likely whatever she and Ssael did to make khert/Dammakkhert causes sette and her bro to be born just like the different classes of alds. It's also what changed the Inaks into what they are now.

Inak legends can be taken with a grain of salt but not Shaensigin who was actually around and blames Alderode

          Anonymous

I've always wondered the implications of this. Maybe inak share a common ancestor with vliegeng, and once had the ability to skate across khert lines? And this was somehow taken away with the invention of the Dammakhert?

            Anonymous

My personal theory is that the Inak are somehow related to the agib. Maybe the Inak themselves are lesser agib changed into their current form. Or in past times the agib would be grafted to inak hearts for special powers and that stopped once they were slaughtered and the silver used to create the dammakhert.

              Anonymous

No. Agib are senet beasts. They are not species in a traditional sense because they cannot reproduce, age or die of old age.

Inak are a species. From what we can tell. They used to be much more before they devolved.

                https://unsoundedcomic.tumblr.com/post/175643047480/are-inaks-and-kedises-related-to-each-other-like/amp

Now they are, but was that always the case? They are not related to kedises and maybe to nothing in Kasslyne's biosphere. They say that they themselves were once gods, long before the humans evolved from pond slime.

It may just be that they once were senets in some sense.

          Anonymous

I'd say more than a grain of salt. We get that story specifically to let us know there's something up. Maybe specifically to trip us up with Granny's bias, but I think the most important through lines are worth keeping in mind
          >THEIR sky
          >Ilganyag gave it to a man with an appetite like a LION
          >the Inak were like Gods
Presumably their "sky" was their own kind of khert and it being given to the "man like a lion" is Ilganyag and Ssael conspiring to use the dammakhert for something, which as anon says, probably results in or was always meant to result in Sette and her bro. Something to keep in mind here is there is no khert in the sky now, it's tied directly to the land of the setting, and I think it's actually been said directly my Cope it's cause the land is made of dead Ogres.

What's always been interesting to me is this idea of Inak as gods and climbing the sky. And why the humans who came later have their minds jacked into this memory recording thing.
