I don't agree. I just think there are some Cinemaphile readers who pay a lot more attention to the comic's narrative - and who have the patience born of consuming serialized stories, like monthly comics - that most casual readers just don't have.
I really love the different flavours that different venues have. Cinemaphile likes its shit, Discord likes its shit, Tumblr likes its shit. No one is better; everyone is just different. But Cinemaphile really is great at picking up on themes and subtext.

A lot of people kill eachother in this, yeah. Alderode (the one with the wacky magic races) had a large uprising relatively recently. They're currently at war with Cresce, which is just normal black people.
While it seems reasonable to assume that the government created the dammakhert (they know how to expand it to cover conquered areas after all), I remember Ashley suggesting several times on the tumblr that people don't actually knows how it was first created or where it came from.
Though she has also said that the Rortidian Barbarians did consist of several different ethnic groups and that the castes do at least vaguely resemble those.

The thing is, the senet beasts were supposedly created individually. They are not beholden to concepts of species or evolution. So there is no reason an efheby couldn't have been created with 5 fingers, or some stormies swim around with three legs.
IIRC, "spiderpaws" is used in part because human hands have five long and agile fingers, but also because of how they weave pymary.
