There was also the shield at the shrine that blocked non-humans. When Sette jumped through it Jivi fully expected her to go up in flames, but it more or less sette-led the argument that she was actually human.
Its only clear from the side content that Duane's background from the academy, he had access to bleeding edge Khert research. Combined with his strong fundamentals, thats let him be one of the best wrights out there.
He's observing first hand bullshit that should be impossible, but he's still able to fit it into his knowledge of pymary and get predictable results out of it.
Is he going insane? He's gone insane. He's going to be able to guide Sette through this in a way to let her leverage her magic hands the best, but its definitely making him rethink everything he knows about her
