>varys best written character >sends an assassin to try to kill Daenerys >later turns out he was on her side all along lol
Daenerys confronting him because of this shit was unironically the peak of season 7
The Fatass originally wrote a second Targaryen contender introduced in the 4th or 5th book who Varys was working for all along. Then comes season 5, and Beavis & Butthead completely abandon this point making Varys nonsensically support Dany.
It doesn't contradict shit. The initial plan was to let Viserys, a mad and unstable prince, to invade Westeros with a horde of screaming, pillaging and raping Dothraki, thus greatly weakening the Seven Kingdoms. Viserys would ultimately be defeated, since the Dothraki have no siege abilities, as well as being shit against armoured opponents, and then "Aegon" and the Golden Company would swoop in.
Executing a traitor who plotted your death is justified and the correct decision IMO. Showing excessive leniency would simply encourage other lords to attempt such treason, knowing that they could always take the Black if failed. Joffrey is a kid who had recently assumed the crown, he needed to show that he was no one to frick with.
he didn't plot joffs death, he was a traitor in claiming joff to be illegitimate and trying to depose him. He could have spared ned, but even if not they should have returned one of the girls as a gesture of good will to the north (irrc the north was too strong so basically calling them all traitors was what incited robs revolt). Killing ned and sucking the robs wiener would be the best course of action imo.
>just send Ned to the Night’s Watch!
What’s stopping Ned from telling them to go frick themselves once he’s back in the north and surrounded by allies? Joffrey made the right call.
Ned joining the Night's Watch is him agreeing to give up on exposing Cersei and going into "retirement". He wouldn't stir shit up anymore because it would endanger Robb's position as his successor. He was willing to make his power play after Robert's death when there was still a chance. He wouldn't start an outright war over it which involves all of his friends and family.
Joffrey killing Ned also means that future rebels, who aren't within Joffrey's immediate grasp, won't surrender for leniency, because Joffrey will just change his mind. He fricked up.
>Disappears for like 2 entire seasons. >Appears in awful season finale with a bunch of strong wymen characters given loads more time than in the books. Said characters suck and amount to nothing. Killed off one of the better actors in the show as a result and gutted his character.
That scene was so fricking bad and soured the entire finale.

Not a big gotgay here, didn't pretty much everyone but Joffrey think actually executing Ned was a stupid move?

Killing Ned is a middle ground between destroying house Stark and doing nothing.
No it isn't, sending him to the wall is.

The actor is a prissy drama queen
What a homosexual
So you're completely fine with the writing for everything after season 4? Like season 8 was top of the pops for you, huh?
SEX WITH GWEN
was this when he realized his objectively based character was going to die like a b***h thanks to Dumb & Dumber?
yes
the way those squirming israelites stare nervously at him
Is this an AI thread? This post has already been posted numerous times on reddit.
you would know
He's just not a moron and he knew that this would cause a war with the Starks and he could end up dead along with everybody else.
GODS
they definitely fricked, but did they still use the brother/sister angle? and did they verbalize it or were the just on the same page? imagine.
Varys is also a based supporter of the one true King (yes Blackfyre is the just and lawful line).
