Oh good Lord, yes that's the nature of man but in particular with these ai images which are often just coombait and they all tend to have the same characteristics. Everyone has the same goal, a porn generator and they all do the same things to try and get there. One would think having a machine that can generate images out of whole cloth that we would see a radical diversity of artistic output or at least output comparable to what has come before with paint and film but no we see the same sterile slightly plastic renders repeated again and again.

Actually AI art is moving forwards a good clip. The refinements will keep coming but expect the big leaps to slow. Soon DallE is gonna look like a point shoot 110 camera while the new hotness is akin to medium format digital.

If you're a white dude that isn't into constantly sucking off leftist ideology at every opportunity, you have to make your own way. You have to produce content that brings attention to yourself, because nobody is going to give you a big break. I get a lot of work on indie games, and I used to get a fair number of commercials and corporate gigs, but commercial is being absolutely DOMINATED by negresses who can barely read the fricking words they're being paid to speak. Listen to the radio or watch cable and notice how EVERY commercial is a sheboon; every narration, every announcer, every spokesperson -- sheboons, sheboons, and more sheboons.

Any of the white dudes you might happen to hear in commercials right now are people who have a massive list of return customers they've been working with for years and years.

      >We're all so talented and beautiful! We're ALL going to make it big!!! Don't listen to the haters!
They have to be this way because if they came back down to reality, they'd realize that voicing a gay anime lizard in an indie dating simulator isn't quite the impressive feat they tell themselves it is. Every time they get feedback from actual players or viewers it is by and large negative, but they dismiss it all as "hating."

If they didn't spend all day sucking their own dick they'd get so depressed they'd have to kill themselves. Look at any shit head voice actor's twitter page and you will be subjected to daily posts about "imposter syndrome" "performance anxiety" and "overcoming the haters."

They're mentally ill clowns. I wish I didn't love acting and I could just stick to my normal fricking job.

Motherfrickers get a tiny bit of fame and it goes to their head.
I don't even understand why they act like that when they're not that talented and use their voice as a crutch.
I can totally respect someone like Mel Blanc that voiced every damn Looney Tunes character, but Steve Blum and Laura Bailey have done the same fricking voice for years! Troy Baker is FROM Texas and I always hear people say he has a shit texan accent.

We all know why the big names are so annoying. If you can't hack it as an actor in Hollywood, you settle for being a VA.

It turns out that AI images area self-driving cars (remember that was "happening now") after all. getting from "wow it almost does it" to actually properly good enough, takes 100x the effort of getting to "almost"

      Anonymous

The difference is that AI images aren't safety critical in anyway and are actually used already in many industries.
What the twitter artists whining about AI don't get, is that most "art" that gets produced has no artistic merit at all. This includes graphic design, advertisements, user interfaces and the smaller details in movies and video games. No one cares about the cover of a cereal box on some counter in the background in a video game. It doesn't make the game better or worse, it's just needed. That thing would have been made by an artist in an hour, now it can be made in seconds. Perhaps the artist can use some more time for actually worthwhile things.

      Anonymous

It's nowhere close to comparable. 99% for self-driving means 1 in a 100 trucks blow through pedestrians at a crossing whereas 99% for art assets means if you look closely at the RDR2 horse nutsack the wrinkles don't align properly

Techgays outnumber professional artists like 100 to 1, which is why you see the same few artists involved in like everything.

      >A friend of mine, a highly successful and very well known painter, calls to say hello and to invite me to an opening.

      >I get a great kick out of this guy because, unlike some artists I’ve met, he’s totally unpretentious.

      >A few months back he invited me to come to his studio. We were standing around talking, when all of a sudden he said to me, “Do you want to see me earn twenty-five thousand dollars before lunch?” “Sure,” I said, having no idea what he meant. He picked up a large open bucket of paint and splashed some on a piece of canvas stretched on the floor.

      >Then he picked up another bucket, containing a different color, and splashed some of that on the canvas. He did this four times, and it took him perhaps two minutes. When he was done, he turned to me and said, “Well, that’s it. I’ve just earned twenty-five thousand dollars. Let’s go to lunch.”

      >He was smiling, but he was also absolutely serious. His point was that plenty of collectors wouldn’t know the difference between his two-minute art and the paintings he really cares about. They were just interested in buying his name.

      >I’ve always felt that a lot of modern art is a con, and that the most successful painters are often better salesmen and promoters than they are artists. I sometimes wonder what would happen if collectors knew what I knew about my friend’s work that afternoon.

      >The art world is so ridiculous that the revelation might even make his paintings more valuable! Not that my friend is about to risk finding out.

Yup, being a successful artist requires constant networking, if you're not shoving your art and name in people's faces all the time you're not going to get any recognition. You could be the best artist of our time but if all you do is upload your stuff on deviant art once a month you'll be a forgotten nobody.

the people being laid off in 'tech' are all the middle tier busy bodies that don't write, test or design software. They're the people who setup pointless meetings for 'agile' and fill out spreadsheets that no one ever looks at. Yes there are hundreds of these women at companies of all types.

You know how you can spot stable diffusion from a thumbnail on a phone from across the room and are immediately bored with whatever it is before you've even consciously registered what the image is?
That's what it'll be like when shows are purely AI.

I love LLMs but AI as it exists right now genuinely isn't able to create new things, it can only recombine things and it doesn't take long to exhaust the recombinant list especially when that list is going to be "things we already know people like".

      No?...
Most normies can't do that, that's for sure.

        Anonymous

If you can't, it's because you haven't been exposed to enough of it or you physically can't visualize an apple.

        >most normies can't either
        My point, which I guess I didn't actually spell out, isn't that it won't be commercially successful;
my point is that AI replacing humans at creative tasks will result in lower quality shows in the short, and likely medium, term while also sabotaging the possibility of good human generated work in the long term.
People who might have been gaining experience now to make good shows later on, will never get hired.
People who are already in the industry, the good ones, will stay; they'll be used as the foundation for improving the AIs (like they already are, via training data). But if you aren't replacing those people by giving new people a chance to get into the industry, eventually that well of training data will dry up.
Worse still (I browse Cinemaphile) there are already experiments with taking AI content and feeding it back into its own training data to try and dilute that metaphorical cake with yet more and more AI corn syrup.

Oh it'll sell well, it'll make tons of money, but those of us sadly burdened with enough intellect to care about things, will not be better off for having AI replace writers and VAs in the near to medium, or even long term, view.

Apple visualization has nothing to do with it. In fact, apple visualizers may be at a disadvantage, because they're prone to imagining realism that isn't there. Those who imagine at a conceptual level can easily see the impossible geometry.

Originality is obsolete too. There's no shortage of people with unique voices who'll work for cheap or free. Use their voice to fine tune the foundational AIs trained with high quality recordings of actual professionals. Don't even need good audio equipment, a phone is good enough.

for sfw industries, it's great for padding with generic made-assets, but i've never see anyone use purely generated material for promotional material. we're talking about an industry that flips their shit and pursues litigation for tracing, so it still scares most off from using it front and center

yes I'm a professional artist, and use the ai for the same thing, backgrunds, trying ideas before I fully commit on them, speed up parts etc...
the point is that OP says
          >*Voice actors
yes they will be probably be gone, it's like vocaloid, you don't need a singer, a composer can do it
          *Screen writers
hardly, or they will become proofreaders
          *Concept artists
still you need an artist to give the direction, put the stuff togheter and whatnot, this will just create way more artists, by lowering the entering floor, but rising the upper limit too. I don't doubt some professions will take a hit tho
          *Cinematographers
the cinematographers will be the ones that direct it, 0 risk of losing them
          >Learn to code ladies
AI knows how to code,is funny how tech bros say this, when replacing codemonkeys will be one of the first thing they will do when the tech will allow it, it will bring the biggest savings, naturally some coders will be left, but 1-2 are enough to do the job of 20.
My advice is learn to scam or to use kneepads if you really want to make money and have job security
