Maybe 10 years ago. No doubt this will be moddled after nu simpsons and south park, which is complete political-oriented diarrhea. They need to stop exhuming the corpses of dead shows and just let them rest peacefully.

I feel like everyone already knew this was shit from the beginning? If they weren't persuaded it would be by the fact Elizabeth Banks is doing it, then by the "20-something Pebbles embarking on her own career" "as the Stone Age gives way to a shiny and enlightened new Bronze Age, the residents of Bedrock will find this evolution hard" synopsis.

You gotta think about this from the Modern Audience mentality

          >white male x white female = problematic, conservative, reactionary, boring, sus as to why whites stick with whites

          > white male x black female = colonialist, power imbalance, the white man uses white male privilege to seduce black woman

          > black male x black female = racist, possible anti‐miscegenation message, sus if there are other races

          > black male x white female = diverse, healthy, modern, smashes white supremacy, a bit spicy

    I mean

The point of Fred Flintstone was that he could be a loving husband and family man as well as an utter selfish, petty dickhead and never feel out of character. That's what makes him such a fantastic character in the first place.

    MAAAAAYBE this can work?

      Smaugchad

Sure, the show COULD be episodic, centered on Fred. They COULD take him two steps beyond Jackie Gleason toward Archie Bunker and there could be Jeffersons-esque B stories about Pebbles. It would be easy as shit and a guaranteed success but you know damn well it's going to be Pebbles focused and serialized. She'll be so much smarter than her dad and wiser too, better in every way because FRICK Fred, that legendary icon that everybody loves is clearly a Chud.
