Apparently, they keep releasing merch of the show due to contratual issues (like novels and toys for fast food companies) because they were previous deals in the oven that CN can't get rid of because they would get sued.
But CN can't release the second season either due to all the controversy of from fear of committing another mistake.
When people from the cast is asked about season 2, they always joke about ''it only exists on your heart''

I recall the controversy around the uncredited artists happened back in 2019 so unless that happened again exactly the same way could the past stuff really affect the situation in the present? There was also one mini drama after the season 1 release when an artist claimed she had designed/helped to design several characters for the show without proper credit but it was quickly shoved under the rug. It was just one person after all. So could it be it?

The last official word from the creator himself is that the show is still in production through the MAX streaming service and might even get more episodes than the original deal said.

Not that long. I’ve been swapping between several projects. I have to finish 2 commissioned animations. One’s almost done. I decided to start up my own “business” making animations of pairings I like.
I’m also working on a couple porn comics. Lot to do.

I wish they'd hire a better English voice cast. The difference between the Spanish and English dub of the show is night and day, especially with Flug. Markiplier and Alan do a decent job, but holy shit most of the other characters sound like temp hires

I think they carry over pretty well, but I always prefer subtitles with foreign stuff anyway, so I recommend subs.
They do seem to carry very well in the subs I only noticed one mistranslation that works well with context
