Gonna have to give it to H4 because it has a more active final girl but they are both for me nearly flawless & my top favorite slasher movies.

4
H2 has better mask, music, mood and slightly better kills and has nudity.
H4 has a better more active final girl, bigger stand out epic moments, a much better Sheriff, more for Loomis to do.
Endings are very close but H4 is slightly better.
Bump
H2 has the most needlessly brutal death in the series
My H4 Review!
PROS
> Great moody opening credits surveying farm equipment adorned with Halloween decorations.
> Solid score.
> The film certainty has a different feel from the original 2 films but is still very suspenseful & atmospheric in it's own way (and is still dead serious in tone)
> Like 2 the film does a decent job of fleshing out Haddonfield as a real town with culture & history.
> Donald as always is great.
> Harris as Jamie remains among the best performances from a child actor I have encountered in a horror film.
> Rachel is a solid final girl.
> Sheriff Meeker (beau starr) I have always thought to be cool, his professional & trusting interaction with Loomis is more enjoyable then the more strained back & forth between Brackett & Loomis in 1/2. We get a faint hint of laziness/denial on his part with him initially trying to blow Loomis off but once he takes things seriously he goes into war mode like a boss.
> I liked that they wrote both Loomis & Myers as having learned from the events of 78, what with Loomis not hesitating to demand a town wide curfew which he resisted doing in 78 and Myers taking out both the Police & Power stations early on & letting officer Logan take him directly to his targets.
> Build up to & reveal of the police station massacre is chilling as well as the triple Michael sequence.
> This is easily the most powerful we have ever seen Myers on film.
> Entire ending from the battle atop the truck to the shootdown, to the twist is epic as hell.
CONS
> Worst mask of the series.
The ending is a con. Jamie suddenly becoming evil is dumb and damages 5 as a result since they had to address it somehow, which meant a mind link
That said still really good.
She doesn't become evil. She is possessed by Michael's evil when she touched him.
Which is dumb. Laurie didn't when she ripped off his mask in 1
Agree with basically all of this
Adding one con - never showed us the police daughters breasts
Which is odd because she did nudity in a ton of other films.
4 is my favorite after 3!!!FACT!!!
Everything past 3 is awful
Explain what the frick is awful about 4 besides the mask?
You nailed part of it, then the kid. It was a major let down when I saw it in the theater. I've watched all of them in the theater but 1 and 2. I punish myself every time too
I like the choppiness of 2, you can tell it was just shat out and it works. Plus that score is fricking amazing. 4 is decent but its very generic and meh soundtrack
Strawpoll threads should result in hardware bans.
They are data mining, never use strawpoll.
And what data are they mining exactly?
Halloween 3 is the best Halloween movie
4, it's more fun tonally.
2, because of Laurie, with some interesting murders and a great finale. Awful main theme though, especially compareds to the original.
4 has an awful mask, but it has one of the best intros of the franchise.
>Awful main theme though, especially compareds to the original.
Strongly disagree.
To each their own, anon. Halloween 2's theme sounds way too high-pitched to my ears.
Why does everyone fricking complain about the mask in 4? I like it because it looks like a blank porcelain doll face compared to the Shatner Turbo Tard 2000!!!FACT!!!
Dick Warlock is the best Michael aside from James Jude Courtney to be honest.
I unironically think Halloween 2 has the scariest scene of the entire franchise.
Halloween 1976 is like ok maybe hes a supernatural dude by the end but we don't know and then boom he shows he's fully evil supernatural at the end of Halloween 2.
Strongly agree man. Love that music when he stands back up after killing the Marshal.
4. Jamie is kino.
I like 4 more

95 is the only halfway decent other one
How is 18 not good?
Too detailed and trying too hard.
I like 18 because it looks kinda sad
81 because of the conitinuity.
> 78 > 81 > 18 > 95 >> 02 > 09a
88 is worst. 89 is decent from the side but straight on is poor, I liked it best when I was young for some reason, I liked the slicked back hair.
95 would be fully great if the damn neck wasn't so big.
02 would be great with blacked out eyes, the lips less shaded/distinct + the nose slightly less pointed upward.
98a would be good if the eyes were blacked out, hair less flared out and silly and the forhead's size was toned down.
>Could’ve been a kino anthology franchise of halloween spooky stories, and be appreciated to this day
>Carpenter made the mistake of a direct sequel to the first film (not a bad movie by the way)
>everyone loathes Halloween 3 because it’s different
>Carpenter says frick it and sells his hard work to some moron
Which is a shame, since Season of the Witch is underrated gem, ballsy enough to show a kid die a really gruesome death.
And it has an awesome eletronic score by Big John.
I am convinced the electro-metallic thud from the opening titles must have inspired Brad Fiedel for his Terminator score.
unironically really enjoy 5 and i don't fricking care if anyone disagrees
Halloween 2 is my favorite one. I am a firm believer in the 80s and 90s sequel, of do it again bigger, louder, and more intense.
H1>H2>H4>H3
The rest are a mixed bag of decent to complete shit (including the Zombie movies and the new trilogy)
