Well it sort of shows scenes from the comic, it just portrays them in a completely different tone and light sometimes. Revels super heavily in violence for no real reason. The color palette was dogshit compared to any version of the comic as well.
Man of Steel because while Watchmen is just full integrity kind of adaptation , Man of Steel not only adapted Superman, but it did what Most of ther previous Superman versions did not, it was Really inclusive towards All possible versions of Superman, especially towards original vision of Siegel and Shuster. While at the same time having backdoor of possible untapped potential that makes it literally any other Superman as well. There are known knows and there are unknown uknowns, and Man of Steel just did it perfectly giving Superman that does NOT not his own potential and what he can or can't do.
Also adapted just about every minute detail from the Canon, even some self contradiction.
If you really know Superman's history then you know what I am writing about.
Oh , and also it was , for once, in a modern time when Superman was Not written by a complete Iibtard that tried to squeeze his own meanings, but rather with perfect balance of original with some modern stuff. Literally everyone can pick up their own meaning from this, unlike modern superman comics where you either agree with globohomosexual veiwpoint (even when it goes against Core traits of Superman, like self-authority) and muh illegal immigrants absolutism, or you just don't read current comics.
If you actually read Superman comics there was Always a nuance to them back in the day. Despite how current writers try to brainwash you.
And Superman will always be The most important pop culture character of 20th century, and 21th by that extend because we are culture of remakes and still living in the shadow of teh World Wars.
Also it finally returned Superman as first person experience, rather than "that guy over there".
Man of Steel isn't different. It's overly convoluted and every character is an butthole. Also from a causal viewpoint the movie is confusing as hell and none of the characters are real characters. They're ideas with no depth. It's dreary, overly long, the action is too much...etc. It's a film that makes you feel like shit after. I wouldn't even call it a superhero film. More like an alien invasion movie.

Never watched Man of Steel, but Watchmen was NOT very good. Almost all of the actors hammed it up, among other things.
Bump
The Director's Cut is the perfect version of Watchmen. The Ultimate Cut is too bloated and the theatrical a disappointment.
Bump
I never watched the watchmen but it's gotta be better than man of steel
Realy depends on which version. I vote the second
