Just watched the first two episodes and Christ, does this show get any less obnoxious? I can admit there are some compelling moments, but this dialogue is the worst blend of marvel quips and a 10 year old trying to sound cool by saying frick every other word, on top of a healthy dose of homosexual shit. Just be honest, is it worth it at all to watch the rest?
Yeah the first couple episodes put a lot of people off. The quippy “we’re so edgy and cool we swear” think never really goes away. In my opinion the first season does get better as it goes along, but only really gets good-good at the very end, and has some glaring animation issues throughout. Second season is a lot better than the first, benefitting from having the stakes bump up a little and the toilet humor ramping down. Looks better too.
Tldr if you don’t feel that you’re enjoying yourself by like episode 4 don’t bother.
Alright, appreciate the honest review. Suppose I'll give it as many episodes as I can.
I am really sad they didnt stick with Percy's demon going forward. They dont have a warlock in the group and Percy's relationship with the demon was an incredibly compelling aspect of the narrative that wasnt given the proper attention.
>They dont have a warlock in the group
I'm watching Vox Machina as a casual viewer with little to no DnD knowledge, but don't the bard and druid basically fill that role?
Yeah Scanlan was basically the arcane “wizard type” of the group, such as it was.
Druid is a Divine caster like cleric, and Bard is the closest they have to an Arcane caster since the Dragonborn sorcerer guy was cut.
Why was he cut?
Drug addict, mental problems, general pr disaster waiting to happen.
damn
i watched the entire first season and the quippy shit doesnt go, its a shame because some parts seemed interesting. the last thing you said is probably true but i was really hoping it would get better. art style is very nice though so props to that
>Vox Machishit
We got ourselves a comedian over here
Yes they do get over it and eventually play it straight.
no they do not
Yeah they do.
Nuh uh
Yeah huh
Prove it then
Now kissss
It's an adaptation of a bunch of obnoxious people's DnD (fifth edition) campaign. Why would it ever get better.
>obnoxious
vex sex
What’s better the animated series or the actual D&D campaign?
nah its pretty good you're just a miserable Cinemaphilegay who will never be happy
