I haven't seen it, but I heard that Emma Stone's character has a brain of a child and that the movie makes it very obvious that she's supposed to be mentally 5 or somewhere around that age. If any of that is what the movie is, then it is 100% a pedo movie.

      Anonymous

On the contrary, Cinemaphile had a thread about having sex with a moron (Emma in the film) and what it'd be like? I think it's "moron porn".

In the movie her brain develops far faster than the brain would in the body of a child. By the boat segment she's reading Emerson, so clearly she doesn't have the equivalent brain of an infant then. There's some ambiguity about it because while her cognitive abilities improve quickly, her understanding of language improves but her sentences remain somewhat wonky, but her mindset remains essentially that of a child with no predispositions or ingrained understanding of etiquette, sexual morality or The Way The World Works. The brain swap premise is basically a way to tell a variation of Candide by way of Frankenstein, a story about a comedically naive character exploring a variety of different aspects of society with no ingrained dispositions, with her naiveté often getting her into trouble.
For the people assuming that the movie is just cryptic pedobait, while Bella's exact mental age when she first has sex is somewhat vague because of the disparity between her cognitive abilities and her childlike mindset, none of the sex scenes have any hint of her acting like a kid; you could watch them without context and they would just look like normal albeit often weird and kinky sex scenes.

Kino is about exploring ideas therefore a kinosseur must be open to new ideas and experiences. Instead people seem to view everything as an exercise to assert their existing ideas onto everyone's experiences.

I haven't seen it, but I heard that Emma Stone's character has a brain of a child and that the movie makes it very obvious that she's supposed to be mentally 5 or somewhere around that age. If any of that is what the movie is, then it is 100% a pedo movie.

      >I haven't seen it...
      >...then it is 100% a pedo movie
And yet you would claim you are able to consent to sex despite having the brain of a child hmmm curious

I've never used re'ddit in my life and I don't plan to start. I much prefer the anonymous dynamic of Cinemaphile whereby people aren't constantly tripping over themselves to have the "correct" opinion for some social reward. That said a lot of posters on this board do exactly that just with (you)s instead of re'ddit gold. I would suggest instead that if you are this kind of poster you go back to re'ddit.

This movie is just like a Wes Anderson movie. It tries so hard to be quirky, that it just becomes cringe inducing. The movie is shot terribly with very ugly colour grading and sets. I don't hate this movie because I am bitter or because it's modern, I just don't think it's good.

The irony is that it is the opposite

        Anonymous

The real irony is that these people are projecting their own inability to separate art from politics onto their dreaded political foes (with whom they are probably unknowingly in contact with every time they leave their house). This phenomenon occurs because leftists are rarely, if ever, forced to confront criticisms of their ideology. For decades, the mass media and internet complex have created a nice, little safe space where they never have to hear anything that contradicts their very well manufactured political opinions.
