The powers were fricking all over the place. Mood weather would be horrible for crops, seeing the future and being unable to do anything about it is trash, and hearing everything everywhere would just drive you insane plus a wild invasion of people's privacy. Mirabel might've actually lucked out
Yeah, sounds about right. I guess the movie does show you how your superpowers would work when there's no supervillains. Luisa could arm wrestle Hercules, and most of the time they have her hauling ass.
>seeing the future and being unable to do anything about it is trash
not only can you mentally prepare yourself for the future, but you can also plan ahead in other ways.
You will lose your hair? Better get a wig before anyone notices.
The love of your life will fall in love with someone else? Better cut your loses and look for someone else.
You will become fat? Better get married before it happens.
etc.
His main thing was to bring happiness and laughter to the villagers. He is constantly telling jokes and trying to get people to laugh. He can also ease their burdens like how he did by helping the mother with the crying baby.
Bruno's visions aren't necessarily set in stone, everyone simply accepted them as inevitable. Further, while you can't change them. You can prepare to handle them. >muh fish died
Spend more time with him while you can >I'd grow a gut
Enjoy food then since it will happen >I'd lose my hair
Then get a hair piece
>Bruno's visions aren't necessarily set in stone
They pretty much are, I'm sure they tested it out. Plus, you know, Mirabels vision was special in that it was undecided, meaning all the others are decided.
Only people with powers that seem to be extremely useful is the Powerhouse of the family, the Medicine Mother, and the girl that can create plants which would mean crops too
Everyone else seems to have extremely circumstantial benefits to their powers
>and the girl that can create plants which would mean crops too
Except that she seemed pretty limited to flowers, until she had her breakthrough with the Cactus.
So, maybe?
The little mayate's power can be invaluable due to the pueblo or whatever living relatively within nature. Knowledge from animals in their could be used to find missing people, find water sources, provide advanced warning of predators, etc.
>oh no your brother gotten eaten by a jaguar >say wasn't he talking about Bruno >whoa guess who's crops got hit by a freak storm
Any other movie this family would be the antagonists lording over a village
When he turned into Bruno, apparently he can also shapeshift into several mice that acted independently from himself.
Since that’s during a song, the canoncity is questionable but maybe he can also duplicate himself?
Pepa's control over the weather was hinted to be more under her control when she wanted, but the focus was how her mood swings effected it. She could water the plants or chase away cloudy days.
Julieta can literally heal people from anything with a little snack. Might also be why they all look so good for 50 and why Abuela can haul around bricks pretty easily for a 70 year old.
Bruno can predict disasters which can help people prepare to clean up and mitigate them.
Camilo brings people joy and can provide an extra working body for any chore that needs done.
Dolores acts as pre telephone era messaging system. She can detect problems, like an injured person and get people to help them. Or relay messages to other family members that are needed.
Antonios no doubt would be to help keep animals under control. Keep the donkey's from getting out, help figure out why they aren't feeling well, entertain people etc.
Abuela acts as the mayor and source of sage wisdom and guidance for the community.
Mirabel knows how to sew, is good with kids, and at least tries to help out in any way she can.
Isabella prior to her song and powers evolving was arguably the most useless. She was eye candy and could only grow nice smelling flowers.
There was a post written on here a few months ago that theorized that the gifts provided by the miracle were actually intended for war (because of the circumstances in which Pedro sacrificed himself) and it honestly makes a lot of sense.
- Camilo’s Shapeshifting and Dolores’ super hearing for espionage intel and recon
- Julieta’s healing food for a combat medic
- Bruno’s precognition to plan out battles and tactics
- Pepa’s weather control as an offensive weapon, help to grow crops and hindrance to invaders
- Isabella’s plant control for growing crops and attack/traps
- Luisa’s super strength not just for attack, but as a way to mobilize supplies more efficiently
- Antonio’s animal communication to call additional allies
It makes so much sense I can’t not believe it now.
Town bawd.

I see what you did there.
You ever wonder what ELSE she might be doing with those donkeys? I mean...she's SINGLE...and very durable...
They do seem awfully comfortable around her.
stress kills your libido and she was pretty much nothing but stressed, at least before the end of the movie

The movie itself doesn't seem to know. He helped a mother rest by turning into her then taking care of her baby.
What if her husband wanted some ass in the meantime? Literally, he's fricked.

He and his sister spy and infiltrate the townspeople and try to prevent them from dissenting
Theyre the perfect secret police

I think that was brought up in thr run up to release that Colombians fricking hated the Hacienda owners.

Ats just equal mass displacement, not the toughest trick ever
Can any of them be of any help other than the strong girl?
