I always thought he was a dickhead and was surprised and disgusted at the apparent consensus that he was a 'top bloke" when he died. c**t fricked around and found out.

He literally fricked around with the most dangerous animals on the planet and found out why most people don't do that. The South Park episode about him was so on-point.

        Anonymous

Yes, he fricked around and found out, but he did it entertaining us and educating us. He fricked around some of the most dangerous animals on the planet, and got killed by one of the least dangerous. The most comparable death is houdini getting punched in the chest. He survived tons of shit he shouldn't have, and what got him shouldn't have.

He also did more for conserving those animals than most others in his line of work even though it's their job.

      Anonymous

How was he a dickhead? He never harmed animals. All he wanted to do was rescue them and educate us about them. He was a wildlife expert who knew what to do around dangerous animals to keep himself safe which is why he kept all of his appendages. The fact that he was killed in a freak accident by an animal that typically isn’t dangerous at all was a tragic irony.

it's hard to explain how Australians are possibly one of the worst people on Earth. Their history? Criminals, the dumbest and sickest and most fricked up creeps in a nation that was already cool with marital rape, slavery, piracy (privateering) and any evil you could imagine. England was already/is still a kind of messed up nation of people you might classify as 'real jerks' but hell, they got better. Yet, when they were still scumbags fricking up all the lands they tried to colonize they took a look at their own most awful examples of human trash, people TOO EVIL AND STUPID for an already pretty evil and stupid island and decided to broom them. They shipped them to Australia so the criminal scum could rape and murder the Aboriginals and leave London the frick alone.

These 'humans' are genetic trash from genetic trash and they inbred even further after their exile and their 'culture' is rape, animal abuse, racism, absolute love of murder and 'adventuring' (poaching in other nations and their own nation, joining every warlord campaign in Africa, basically imagine a nation of serial killers or Japan during the rape of Nanking but it never ends).
    I fricking hate white Australians.

This thread is living day proof that Steve succeeded in what he wanted to do, and that was teaching people about animals. Very few men are based enough to sacrifice their pride to get a point across let alone to inform and teach.

    >Wait, so you're telling me this guy just acted like a moron with a deathwish
I worked with venomous snakes for few years(as in handled them daily) and the occasional crocodilians nothing big however once you get a feel for the species its pretty easy to predict their behavior patterns. When you learn to work with dangerous animals like Crotalids and Elapids they teach you never to relax around them but its almost impossible when you are so familiar with what you are working with there are exception like fricking Bothrops and Brown snakes but honestly its not hard to see how someone like him got that lax attitude.
Point being from my experience with venomous snakes its not hard to see how he developed his caviler attitude towards the wildlife he was working with and funnily enough Crocs aren't what ended up killing him.

It's always so telling how people completely miss the point of Steve Irwin. They try and act like moronic know it alls claiming he was an animal abuser or contrarians saying he "got what was coming to him" when in reality he was a trained professional who has lived around animals his entire life and made it his life's goal to get people to love them as much as he did, which his methods were just simply going "hey look at this cool animal I'm frickin around with, you should care about em because they're so cool!" and no one has ever come close to his level of pure and unadulterated level of passion about the things he loves.

Read the articles of the conservationists that had a chance to work with Steve. They had never seen a man so dedicated nor hardworking toward helping and saving the planet. He would learn everything he could about whatever animal they were studying, no matter how much time he had already spent working with that animal, and then he'd drive them to work harder, faster, and more intensely (because conservationists only spend a few weeks a year on any individual animal protection/research trip). They all said he was bigger than the legend and that his tv persona was just a funny version of the actual, intense, devoted humanitarian/conservationist.

Have we considered that it's not so much "sting rays rarely kill humans", and not "most humans don't go around fricking with a wild stingray in its natural habitat?" Maybe they're actually really aggressive. Maybe they're passive. The point is I can look it up, and Steve Irwin cannot on account of him being dead.

When I was a kid my family went to the beach when there happened to be a hurricane coming. My dad was like "frick it I paid for this shit we're going anyway" and anyway the hurricane blew up this big sand bar out in the ocean so the water was only knee deep way far out from the shore and all kinds of sea life was trapped in it. There were a bunch of sting rays and I would chase them around. This was before he died.
