They usually delve into a cruel power fantasy then try to justify it as "Well male characters do it."
Male characters who are cruel and crazy usually get their just desserts. Female characters written this way usually get off or have some sympathetic angle to their punishment or demise.
They can't give them a reason for losing their minds because that would imply a woman was weak and fragile.

There was a scene where all the heroes were in a circle fighting CGI robots the made me feel so much disgust and contempt that I turn off the movie, jumped on the marvel hate wagon and never looked back.

they had to establish threats big enough for the team of like eight superhumans to have trouble with, including the fricking Hulk
Loki did it in the first one because he has magic hypnosis manipulation powers, so they were at like half strength, that kind of worked, but Loki was probably the weakest part of a very successful movie
then we all knew Thanos was coming, and this was before they fricked all that up and he was just a purple grapefruit with a ballsack for a chin. so there was an actual air of mystery and tension, but they wanted to milk that cow, so more Avengers movies snuck in during the meantime.
The first one, a threat supposed to be big enough to work against a full power Avengers team, is a hokey robot doing schtick and the big setup of him having a super strong robot body immediately deflates and the heroes literally steal this body to make Vision and are MORE powerful for it. Ultron was such a wet fart and never felt like a threat in his own movie. From there it was fully established that these movie are for toddlers and blood or real violence can NOT be shown. So therefore our heroes are never at threat of being beaten to death which happens almost every issuie of the comics. Captain America looks cool when he's getting beaten around so badly his uniform is torn, he's bleeding everywhere, but he stands up and poses and the american flag motif is standing strong, and he punches the bad guy
It never had to be so complicated, and now they're throwing up the hail mary of woke poc in every role hoping it will plug the hole in the ship.
And this is AFTER they spend billions on Averngers Academy at Disneyland, boy was that ten years late.

she killed a lot of people and turned evil before feeling remorse at the end and dying. just kill some people off. she had a good arc, but it's over and i don't want to see her ever again. the audience has shown that they don't want more marvel movies with girl leads anyway.
