I will keep liking the prequel (except the atrocious part of Padme + Anakin on Naboo in episode 2) and there is nothing you can do about it.

The plot is the part that sucks the hardest though. It's three mostly unrelated movies because there was no real planned arc for what was supposed to be a trilogy.

Disney of course. That's how they roll. It's how they do everything. Star Wars wasn't perfect, but it was mostly the vision of one person trying to tell a certain story. The sequel movies are literally just random people using characters and set pieces from the original story and churning out a generic 90 or so minutes of content.
rian johnsons fault. basically messed up all the plot / character lines set up in TFA and made it near impossible to end the trilogy in any way that made sense
I see it more as JJ's fault for setting up a ridiculous scenario like the son of Han and Leia being raised by them and Luke turns into a mustache twirling Vader fanboy but with zero reasons given.
So then he just drops the ball and walks away leaving it to Johnson to try and figure out, which he failed at because he was coming into it with his own ideas already. Both did terrible jobs, but JJ set the stage for all the bullshit that came.
Just watch I, II, Genndy Wars, III, IV, V, VI.
