recently as in two years ago?
yeah, they did two series first was an ultramarine one which I think got the most hate for whatever reason, and a Sisters of Battles series after that with clearly some plan for an overall plotline regarding Chaos relics and the Inquisition but Marvel didn't bother to release another mini or series either due to low sales losing the license or just loss of interest on Marvel part
It wasnt a good story but the only reason it got hate was becasue it featured the ultramarines. You could make the story the same but use one of the accepted "fan favorite" space marines and it would be amazing
Don't lump those lebbit secondaries in. They don't count, they never have, and I say that as a Salamandergay.
Also, frick corpse grey.

Yeah you dont totally have /tg/ open right now in your tabs you speak like a modern 40k general user.
There are three layers of 40kgays that hate ultramarines.
First layer are other space marine fans who are fans of other chapters and hate the attention ultramarines get.
Second layer are Imperium fans who hate ultramarines for being mary sues and space marines for making the bulk of their lore despite being a minuscule part of the setting
Third Layer are Xenogays who loathe Imperium and Space marines for basically being their punching bags and getting all the attention from them.
>most hate
It's a performative thing a this point, like pineapple pizza. morons saw it happen a while ago and thing they're in on the joke by joining in. But if you ask them to go into why they don't like it, they go quiet or change the subject.
Fan works just seem to bring in the most reddit minded homosexuals to do that.
so besides The Redeemer by Pat Mills, what are the general Warhammer Comic recommendations?
going by this YouTube Video Games Workshop had a surprisingly large amount of false starts when trying to publish Comics and they didn't really get going until the 2000s.
also, Andy Jones quotes used in this video feel a bit ironic considering the general decline of the American monthly comic format and the rise in appeal of Black and White manga books
GW has always tried other stuff to market their stuff. Did you know they had a record label? Anyway for other comics not the Redeemer I think the other go to 40k comic is Damnation Crusade
>Did you know they had a record label?
not until recently.
one of those interesting weird experiments that GW was doing at the time and along with everything else from the late 80s/early 90s it was ended when GW fully committed to miniatures and Wargaming which while a massive missed opportunity was probably the correct business move by Brian Ansell who now that i think about was basically GW version of Jim Shooter.

yeah GW always tries some weird side stuff especially with their animations recently
that was more GW seeing the success of fan animation on YouTube and thought they could convince people to subscribe to a Warhammer streaming service if it had some rather Janky animations in it along with some other random stuff, wonder when it will be folded into Amazon Prime.
Didnt marvel get the license recently and made comics no one liked?

is it really that simple?
40k gays are notoriously bad when it comes to what is based and what is cringe.
You can have 2 stories be basically the same with constant Space marine stomps and action but its bad if its about Ultramarines its always the case.

Ultramarines are considered boring overplayed poster boys which was also why they were chosen for the Marvel Comic series

Writers and Artists from 2000 AD comics used to moonlight for Games Workshop because they thought the games were fun.
