He almost certainly died. He took the training parachute that was sewn shut and wind/chill would have put the temperatures he experienced in the negatives. Also the money washed up decades later in the 80s.
A huge chunk of the money was found a few inches beneath the soil near a river. He didn't really prepare properly for the jump like he did with everything else
Had this revelation while stoned once, that the reason people were more violent in the past was simply because violence was simply easier to get away with. You could be walking along a secluded area at night and just simply murder someone, and quickly return like nothing happened. No one would have the slightest idea.
Today, there would be a missing persons report, helicopters, dog sniffing teams, cctv footage, maybe even tracking phone location, interviews, forensics to determine time and cause of death. You need to either be a mastermind of planning or extremely lucky.
Just read this book. The famous 'murder map' of London shows 138 murders in a city of 800,000 over a 40 year span. There were 112 homicides on London last year alone, in a city of 9 million.

That's proven murders. The murder solve rate was <10% back then. Nowadays it's like 50%.

, 138 murders per 800k, even if its total, is more than 10 times the murder rate of 112 per 9m.
It's a bit of a double edged sword because there was also no due process back then. If the village accuses you of a crime even if you innocent then you're still fricked. If you don't have an alibi or anybody to frame then you were a dead man.
>missing persons report, helicopters, dog sniffing teams, cctv footage, maybe even tracking phone location, interviews, forensics to determine time and cause of death
lol, you watch too much tv
they only do that for innocent white teenage girls and rich people

It was the ease of crime combined with basically everyone being wretchedly poor (until the 1800s), and life in general being unimaginably more miserable than today. So all you have is your small tract of land which you don't even actually own, and at least half of your children are going to die before they turn 18. Imagine what life was like when the average person buried half of their children, for all of history until about 120 years ago. Oh what's that? Winter lasted a bit too long? Looks like your youngest died of hunger. Along with the children of a few of your neighbors.
People just had way shorter fuses before the 20th century. You had almost nothing to lose by engaging in violence and your domestic life was interspersed with trauma and hardship that today we would view as earth-shattering.
Please stop propagating the counter-false narrative of everything being great in the middle ages just because we were inundated with "everything was shit" since the Victorian times. The average person had about half their children die by 18. Life was hard, there were no doctors, nobody knew about medicine, and everyone had crap nutrition and was vulnerable to diseases. The 1% had decent lifespans because they had easier lives and decent nutrition but the vast majority of people in history were subsistence farmers entirely at the mercy of circumstance and weather.
History is a long and varied tale, anon. Certain parts of life were better in some places than others, and vice versa. Much of what you said could be incorrect in parts or in whole depending on circumstance.
Its neither and both.
K looking at the whole of history prior to 1860, I can accurately say life was immensely more difficult and tragic than today. Those pockets of peace and relative prosperity you are alluding to were short-lived anomalies.

>tragic
Is it really tragic if no one expected anything different
>The average person had about half their children die by 18. Life was hard, there were no doctors, nobody knew about medicine, and everyone had crap nutrition and was vulnerable to diseases
Nothing of that really changed until antibiotics were invented in the early 20th century.

The Frank Abagnale interview on Johnny Carson is actually better than the film but not by much. The movie really had a lot of great material to work worth and show very well but Frank is just a very disarming and charismatic guy who could give you just as good a version of his life story in just a few minutes. Great watch.
Very true. It was more about creating a higher risk for commiting crime by being excessively cruel to the few people you actually caught in the act so future criminals would have to weigh they're otherwise very good chances of commiting crimes with impunity.
everything was easier pre-internet
go stream Robert Stack-era Unsolved Mysteries, the cases have all been updated and the majority missing persons and John/Jane Doe cases that were still unsolved during the original airing of the show have all been solved via either social media or 23andMe
i get away with murdering hookers because I own bayside property with my own pier and a boat. You'd be surprised how many hookers let their phones go to 0% battery, and the scummiest most deserving to die ones dont even have phones.
>*horrific torture, rape and murder of a teenage highschooler >japanese people: I sleep >*an american in the country being an obnoxious butthole (aka american just existing) >japanese people: *woke laser eyes "baka gaijin, omae wa mou shindeiru"
>*an american in the country being an obnoxious butthole (aka american just existing)
replace american with Black person and youre right. japanese like white americans
funny thing is, this is literally how everyone was before israelites taught goyim to hate their own country. Go read about the spanish american war. Why did that happen? Because some lying news paper homosexual wrote an article about
>lol these hispanics dont respect us, they killed our people
a few dead americans is all it took for the entire country to REEEEEEEEE into a war.
the entrance into ww1 and ww2 were the same thing. Most americans didnt want to get into forign wars, but as soon as they wre convinced someone did something to some AMERICAN, how fricking dare they REEEEEEEE
It's not a superb movie, and Tom Hanks' accent is definitely hackneyed, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a "crime." It's still DiCap and Spielberg... it's quite watchable.
Once read a historic paperback as thick as a Steven king novel that was nothing but crime sysnopsys taken from the late 1800's until WW1. Usually a crime a page. The vast majority of serial offenders got away with it by literally moving one town away and using a new last name. People didn't move around much from their home towns back then, apparently. But yead, it was easy. Most crimes now also go unsolved.
When I got my graduate job I left my retail wage cage, but still kept my uniform.
When I moved away for that job I brought it with me and just put it on to go shopping, I would get 2 bags worth of groceries and just walk out the back as if I worked there, I got questioned once and I just said I was a new transfer. But I scored free groceries for almost a year.
I stopped when the company changed their uniforms though, but it was a nice ride. I was making 4x the money at my new job and yet barely spent it. Just look like you belong and people wont care enough to look into you.
It's probably just way easier now that everyone has an hd camera in their pockets that can also tell you exactly when and where a video/photo was recorded. And then we have the whole crowdsourcing of doxxing that'll find out where you live, where you work, and who your friends are.
Crimes were incredibly easy for people to get away with in the past. You didn't have to be clever. You just needed to move someplace where no one would recognize you.

Yes.
Yes
>boomer criminals really had names like "Peepee Pooper"
who are you quoting?
He almost certainly died. He took the training parachute that was sewn shut and wind/chill would have put the temperatures he experienced in the negatives. Also the money washed up decades later in the 80s.
nope, he didnt die. he was a bored ex CIA operative psychopath who wanted to show he could pull it off and get away with it.
where's the body then
A huge chunk of the money was found a few inches beneath the soil near a river. He didn't really prepare properly for the jump like he did with everything else
>the money washed up somewhere and he failed because they said he did
sure
Superman?
The middle ages used to have extremely cruel punishments because 99% of crimes would go unsolved.
if you were dumb enough to get caught then yea, you deserved it

thats how we were able to get rid of psychopaths easily as hunter-gatherers.... sabretooth tigers... cliffs... etc
There is actually more violence now than there ever was.
Not in Europe at least, the homicide rate during the Middle Ages was crazy

Tradhomosexuals are so moronic, buddy probably didn't even begin to consider the dramatic rise in population
reminder that most crimes even today go unsolved

What did you do to get stoned? How did you survive?

Wrong. If you made it past the baby stage you had a gooe chance of living
dumb meme. most injuries and infections were life threatening before modern medicine. often treatments were worse than diseases.

imo Spielberg's only good movie
Shut up. Jaws and Jurassic Park are better. I’m so sick of you homosexual contrarians.
it still is
Was this the movie that made Leo a respected actor?
gangs of new york probably did it
The whole thing was a lie. Ironically his greatest con was convincing everyone he was a master conman.
Yep. Looked into it, the story is such horseshit. Its just like Spielberg making a Holocaust movie and slipping in lies.
Watch this.
Awwww how sad, some fricking losers never accomplished anything with their life and this is how they cope.
yep never forget that tom hanks is a freemason, and anything he's in is part of an agenda
i get away with murdering hookers because I own bayside property with my own pier and a boat. You'd be surprised how many hookers let their phones go to 0% battery, and the scummiest most deserving to die ones dont even have phones.
pics or didnt happen
The sad part is you're probably telling the truth and confessing to your crimes, because this website is filled with nutjobs.
how is it sad, i am ridding the world of disease-spreading scumc**ts
youre still going to hell
Boomers had everything easier, even crime
literally none of this happened anon
Wait, all of it was a lie? What, no way.....
the only part that was true was amy adams looks hot with braces
Zoomers record all of their crime and have tracking devices on them 24/7

abignale's story is greatly exaggerated and embellished
but yeah
His dad didn't die from slipping. He was killed once they had that lead, and they threatened to kill his mom next if he didn't turn himself in.

The dude made up his life story of crime
Oddly enough, a made up life story makes a pretty darn good movie.
I can't believe people didn't see that when he claimed to have studied for the bar in one night.
the bar exam is pretty easy though. all sorts of morons pass it.
How did no one at least do some research into his background?
>A conman did all this wild and crazy shit
No, a conman said he did all this wild and crazy shit.
Crimes were incredibly easy for people to get away with in the past. You didn't have to be clever. You just needed to move someplace where no one would recognize you.
Poor casting, Tom Hanks isn't convincing as being a wrong doer.

sure but we were too drunk to write it down

Mozart enjoyed shit jokes. The grouping of animals "Murder of Crows" etc was basically an old book of memes.
Didnt you watch Zodiac?
