5.5/10 on the cool scale. Mask was decent, lightsaber was cool but personality in general was god awful, never quite got away from the teenage star wars villain vibe, he was like Zuko from avatar.
in order from coolest to least
Darth Vader
Emperor
Boba Fett
Darth Maul
Count Dooku
Jango Fett
Dark Anakin
General Grevious
Kylo Ren
Trooper with Weapon
Phantasma
sequels were really lacking in villains apparently
Dubs confirm. This guy knows.
Vader, Emperor, and Boba are three of the coolest “bad guys” of all time.
I wish we’d get Book of Boba season 2 following a mean Boba during the time between EP3 and 4.
General Grev should be higher
Source: taught at a school that played movies during lunch break, listened to over 500 hours of boys arguing about which jedi was coolest / would win a fight
Grev was a C tier villain but he did look cool and did fight cool
The sad thing about both Ren and Phasma (and Snoke, and Hux) is what a massive fricking waste every last one of them was.
I remember my first time seeing The Empire Strikes Back as a little kid. I kept wondering, “Okay, when do the good guys win?”
But we go from Hoth, to Dagobah, to Bespin, and the good guys never win.
That was the first time in my life I saw a movie like that. I was upset when the credits rolled.
But the sequel villains never had any victories. They came off as incompetent and, as a result, unintimidating.
That was part of why Tem Morrison wanted to keep his helmet on more in The Book of Boba Fett. He wanted to be more mysterious. But at least he looks like a mean, tough-guy when you see his face. Kylo doesn’t. Kylo was so criminally misused as a character. Me and my fat friend could have written him to be more compelling.
They didn’t fricking do anything. Who the frick were they?
I agree with Tem Morrison's friend up here.
Kylo started out to me as a character who wished he was Darth Vader, for reasons unknown. But he wasn’t. Abrams even spelled that out with Rey’s line “you’re afraid you will never be as strong as Vader.”
When Snoke said there was “an awakening in the darkness and the light” I was hoping Kylo would be the “awakening” in the Light. But he resists it because he wants to be like Vader. This is why he has temper tantrums; he wants to be evil, but has to force it and smash machines and resist his “Light” nature. And then Rey would be the “awakening” in the Dark, which would be tragic because she’s an innocent girl. The whole “awakening” thing was never even explained in the end. What a load of shit.
Believe me, I know very well why.
At the end of the Force Awakens my bud and I were speculating that the reason Luke seems to look so sad the first time he sees Rey is because he was still the same “good guy” who believed in trying to save everyone, but he saw a young girl whom the Dark Side woke up in, through no fault of her own. It was pity. And he knew she was in for something terrible. That’s what I thought for sure.
But nope, we couldn’t have a story like that. Like you said. For reasons we both know.
Allegedly Kylo REN’s character was partially inspired by his character in ‘Girls’
If the story went the way that I imagined it, then it would ultimately subvert the idea of that dualism. Rey and Ren would both end up saved from evil. Like Yin and Yang, they would have similar, mirrored conflicts; Rey not wanting to be evil when it’s in her nature, and Ren not wanting to be good when it’s in his.
The two of them come together in the end and the result is “balance” and “harmony,” words Lucas himself always tossed around constantly.
But no, we couldn’t have that…or even something 1/10th as good as that.
I still to this day do not believe that Abrams and his writers DIDN’T leave a skeleton story behind for the trilogy, which Rian ignored.
You need us to tell you what is cool?
That's not cool, anon.
best part of those movies. i would watch more kylo kino
Nerd Vader? No.

Nu wars isn't star wars

Checked
And I’d turn to the dark side too if I had to see a naked Lena Dunhambeast
That explains why I hated the other characters more.
looks like a ripoff of revan
Were they cool?
For a couple seconds then they became easily-dispatched fodder in the final shit film
Is that the famous bad batch?
They didn’t fricking do anything. Who the frick were they?

You’re right about all of that but I think you also know why the 2nd movie dropped those plot points
Really, I pity Star Wars fans deeply

Digits authenticated.
I hate the universal dualism interpretation of the Force, but I like the idea of being "seduced by The Good."

Just about, when masked.
HELL NO.
>was the angy and ugly teenager cool
no
Reminder all nu wars is homosexual shit
The minute he took off the mask his threat factor dropped to 0
