Norton was the only time Hulk wasn’t crap in the MCU. Feige is overrated and doesn’t get enough credit for ruining everything.

Hulk was great in The Avengers. Probably the last time he was good was in Ragnorok

I'll agree that Hulk actually was really good in the first Avengers. Ruffalo gave a good performance of being constantly stressed and depressed about what he is. His first scene when Natasha goes to pick him up is nice and tense. When he changes for the first time in the Helicarrier there is this split second, just before he loses control, where he looks at Natasha with this really sad/scared/guilty expression, like he knows what's about to happen and he can't stop it and he's really sorry about it. It's only a brief moment but it's the kind of nuance that's extremely rare in the MCU, in later movies they would have turned that moment into a joke.
You're crazy about Ragnarok though, by that time Ruffalo was phoning it in and they had completely given up on treating the character with any kind of gravitas.

          >"YOUR LIFE HUUURRRRRR?"
          >nuance
whedon sucked and the franchise was better off when he got shitcanned

Ragnarok is a spit in the face for anyone who likes Planet Hulk.

He probably didn't want to make Hulk into a joke of a character like Ruffalo's

It’s more than likely he doesn’t want to being universal in, we all know that Norton was literally TRICKED out of the avengers by bad advisors.

Worse. They'd have to PAY Universal the holders of the Hulks movie rights more money.

Norton idea of Hulk was too personal for Marvel, they just want their movies to be basic.

Norton didn't wanted to be recognized by being hulk as the homosexual brit who is Hulk right now is, second because he wanted American Story and Fight Club stylized Bruce Banner dealing with his demons, which he did well in the movie.

He wanted Bruce Banner as i said above, which is comic accurate and perfect.
Have even Joe and Devil being aspects of Bruce's mind like Tyler Durden was to "Jack" in Fight Club.

look I empathize with wanting a better script but he was clearly being too much of a dick. I hated Ruffalo too though, hopefully the rumors are true and all this next phase ends with re-boots and recasts

    >Still the best Banner and somehow closer to the comics while being a very loose adaptation because comics would be influence by his take making his version the default.
    I don't think he'll be top.

People forget that loose adaptations can be top quality too.

Words and phrases like "diva" or "difficult to work with" encompass far too many things, and are often used to dismiss real problems rather than addressing them. When there are two alpha-type personalities on set, you will have difficulties. When you have a smart actor and a dumb director (or vice versa), you will have difficulties. When there's a clash of vision, you will have difficulties.
When a producer says someone is difficult to work with, it often just means that person won't bend to his will. Is the producer always right creatively? I think that's the more pertinent question, and one you can and should answer yourself. Which Hulk did you like best?

Norton was pushing for a darker, more comic accurate Bruce who was addled by mental illness and guilt over not being able to save his mother from his abusive father. No way they're gonna tackle those themes in a PG-13 popcorn blockbusters aimed at children and manchildren

The Incredible Hulk movie could have been better when you look at the deleted scenes.
