Was HotD actually good, or just wishful thinking from the abused fanbase?

I liked it
I liked her
It's better than the book and better than the majority of Game of Thrones, so I'd say yes.
6/10
It was OK, not great, not trash. But yeah, many people seem to value it highly because it was first decent thing from that franchise in almost 10 yers.
I don't like they blacked the valaryons since I always like playing as them in the ck2 mod.
Couldn’t even finish the first episode. Those fricking hates destroyed an entire franchise lel
Of all the primetime shows on air right now, HotD has one of the largest female audiences. Take that how you will
Matt Smith is relentlessly handsome
His nose is so ugly, it negates the jawline and height advantage.
Solid 5/10 numale
Be tall, rich and star in some nerd shit and you could pull gay men and 5/10 women too
I didn’t watch it. I liked Daemon and the Velaryons from the side books/novellas too much to watch an ugly britbong Daemon or disgusting Black personfied Velaryons.
LUKE
U
K
E
so cute :3
Kiss the table, gay
not NEARLY as good as s01-04
not NEARLY as bad as s05-08
It would've been great if the Velaryons weren't actually black, Laenor showing up at the end of that episode with a shaved head was beyond moronic
LITERAL soap opera
4/10.
shit acting
plot holes
time jump was shit
boring, long scenes with little purpose
nignog targaryens..come on
good visuals though
The visuals kept me interested.
>catch the spunk
>impregnate your daugther
>you now have a claim for some riches
For this people, royalty, even in fiction, is indistinguishable from teen oil princes in 2023
Bastards only stand a chance if trueborn all die.
The dragon bros were cool. That and Doctor who and clubfoot
only one aspect of it was any good
What was he thinking?
He was mad for da monke.
Yes that refers to both Rhaenyra and his Oriental waifu.
one of the most uneven seasons, probably of the whole franchise. Some genuinely good bits mixed in with some real lows.
it would be 80% better if Sapochnik’s wife hadn’t pressured him into making the story revolve around the dated Hilary vs trump analogy and, “if just women were in charge none of it would have happened,” but there’s probably some industry mandate that Trump has to be involved somehow.
It’s funny that this was the intention, because it played out on screen as two women letting their petty bickering rip a kingdom apart, which is much more realistic anyway
I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Other than that one Daemon fight being a little too capeshitty, I have almost no complaints about it.
The feeling always was that Game of Thrones fans will accept pretty much anything HBO throws at them. Seasons 3-8 demonstrated that the show only got more popular, and the fans more excited, the worse it became
HOTD was an experiment to see just how much the abused (but loving) housewife that is the GOTgay will endure without running away.
The answer clearly is, pretty much whatever they do the GOTgay will spread her gaping butthole whenever she hears the HBO white noise and the Ramin Djawadi theme tune, without fail

You clearly didn't watch it, as it's fricking miles above GoT in terms of quality. It suffers none of the shortcomings of GoT (improperly planned plot, shock value nonsense, various trash actors). It's so consistent compared to GoT wildly fluctuating from total kino at the start to total garbage after a few seasons.

I honestly thought you HBO shills would go into hiding a little longer than a week. Transparent AF
Better than the worst half of GoT, worse than than the better half. I like the fact that it's pretty much just one big storyline whereas in Game of Thrones there are always like five big storylines.
its ok with some good parts but you have to accept a lot of propaganda and diversity and feminist shit shoved down your throat.
Incredibly mixed bag with more shit than gold. They definitely have one hardcore autist nerd that helped flesh out stuff like Daemon and Viserys' relationship and the Black/Green rivalry, but at least half of each episode is insufferable shit. Even without the pozzedness, it has the same stupid orchestral beats whenever Dany did something marginally important in the original show.
why is the teaser trailer taking so long!!!!
Didn't they just stop filming S2?
that wrapped filming up a little over a month ago, apparently a teaser trailer was shown to a select audience this month
It was as good as S1-3 of GOT. The lean into a political-war drama was a great idea to differentiate HOTD from its parent series.
That and the Targ Dynasty lore is more interesting than most of the main seriesm
I've never seen GoT or HotD, but I just wanted to remark how real the outfits look and how clearly a lot of work was put into designing everything using mostly real sets. Compare this to Rings of Power, which is essentially the same thing (prequel show for a book series) had a significantly higher budget and looks far worse, with abysmal costume design
It turned to shit after she had left.
It was ok, but being a prequel means the characters HAS to act moronic for the main story to u fold
One lady literally was prisoner, and her dragon captive, and she managed to get out, on her dragon, and face her captors, the whole evil family that was going to wage war with her house...
And she smugly went away.
She could have scorched everyone rigth there but she was just... "I'll see you in season 2..."
I didn’t mind the time jumps and I appreciated the allusions to other films. My favorite scene was Daemon being a dictator; it was very well executed. My gripe is the kid being sent out alone with a DRAGON.
