I was about to ask why there were no romantic relationships in the Circus considering how close everyone would inevitably become, but then I remembered that there was one.
I mean, it's sort of funny. Classic example of subverting expectations by hyping a character up and having the audience sympathize with him only for him to be vaporized at the last minute. If anything, it's a little to clever for this show.

Yes Gummigoo is just an NPC, but thanks to his experience in the dev room and having his reality shattered he basically gained true sentience, which in a way is a huge critical flaw in Caine's AI programming. Which is also why he's so incredibly scared of having NPCs walking around the tent because over time they WILL start acting like the human guests, which is all his fault for wanting his guests to enjoy themselves more.

Pomni has no idea what her situation is at this point. For all she knows she could be a more advanced AI herself or something. Or at very least, she's going through a different but similar existential struggle herself and empathizes with him.
When you're dealing with anxiety and depression often the last thing you want is someone being overly chipper and nice. Sometimes people just need to process stuff their own way for a while. You need to let people know that you're there to support them when they need you, but not thrust yourself upon them.
This is making me think, are Gangle's tears a part of their character model, or is it a particle effect that all the characters can produce.

The only thing new he does this episode is kill NPCs, something Caine also does with even less thought. He didn't have an opportunity to kill Gloinks last episode because Kaufmo got to them first.

If you think about it logically it makes perfect sense.
All the crazy shipping people drew and made fanfics of every combination of character out there so after 6 months when they have lost steam it would make sense for them to hyper-fixate on new characters. Yes Gummigoo is just an NPC, but thanks to his experience in the dev room and having his reality shattered he basically gained true sentience, which in a way is a huge critical flaw in Caine's AI programming. Which is also why he's so incredibly scared of having NPCs walking around the tent because over time they WILL start acting like the human guests, which is all his fault for wanting his guests to enjoy themselves more.

If you think about it logically it makes perfect sense.
All the crazy shipping people drew and made fanfics of every combination of character out there so after 6 months when they have lost steam it would make sense for them to hyper-fixate on new characters. Goo got more attention than the princess because the episode was partially about him while the princess was as much of a side of a character you can get without it being a complete waste.
Open minded? It's the most solid ship the series has seen so far. Pomni is happy with him and him with her, so naturally there's tons of shipping art between them.
