I thought it was alright personally. I mean it has the same energy as a newgrounds animation which is charming. Also I think the VA’s add a layer to the comedy.
Yeah, I find myself generally liking Kroll and Mulaney’s performances but overall I think the show is fairly meh. Is it actually targeted at kids btw? I’m not sure whether to read all the inclusiveness as pandering, educational, or both.
It’s not targeted as a kids show although I do think that the writers knew it’d be one of those shows teens watch anyways like family guy.
So the explanations of asexuality and code switching are for average adult viewers?

it started out defensible. it did a lot of things right, had a lot of funny characters and fun performances. it touched on some fun concepts. the ugliness and cheap as shit animation was a downside, but it was no worse than like, Cow and Chicken or uh... rocky and bullwinkle. for ugliness and cheapness respectively.
but I think the writing was on the wall when they started ruining good jokes with douchey warped politics
when the coach is like "okay boys on that side, girls on this side, and you eh transformers can sleep wherever ya want!" it was funny.
Having the "correct views" characters go "did he mean transsexual?" like he had just let out a slur or something, destroyed the humor.
I agree with this take. It got harder and harder to enjoy each season.
Which was funny to me because I was watching it in parallel with F for Family, which got better and better each season

I have a weird level of investment in the ongoing story in a weird, like, fricking soap opera kind of way that even I don't understand.
A lot of the songs are better than they have any business being.
It also addresses a surprising amount of its subject matter in oddly serious and, honestly, genuine way. But sometimes it takes itself far too seriously and forgets that it's supposed to be a comedy and kind of spoils it.

The plot is the characters are shit and just bet worse and are all israelites
I enjoyed and defended the first few seasons but the fact they seemed to not give a shit about character development and would sabotage any apparent overarching plot or any sort of internal consistency with "lol so random" nonsense became too much.
That and it couldn't go 15 minutes without reminding us how the production staff are all good liberals.
