Cruise got bruised for fricking 'Barbenheimer'? The world is dead to me now.

He's the one who said it was a double feature that everyone should see supposedly.

Of course he did. Hes Mr "We gotta get this filming done in the middle of Covid or the whole industry is going to fall apart!"

He knows its all slipping away, that the world he loves being apart of is failing. Same for those actors and writers picketing. They know times are changing and job they knew is going away or diminishing. They're desperate to keep it how it was

I don't have any qualms with Mario catching a billion and a half. I'll watch it at some point. This 'Barbenheimer' thing just shows how potent marketing is currently.

When half of the entire budget is sometimes the marketing you know there is a problem

Is this what cruisecels actually believe? more like Mission: Sloppable.

I think it was an idea started by randoms on the internet and the studios took advantage of it because they would both make money. Also Tom Cruise said it was a double feature, it was a group effort by customers and the corporations. Isn't it beautiful?

I still think they should have cast a woman to play Barbie.

    >Was it authentic
Hell no, it was astroturfed from the start by the studios to try and get people back in the theaters. It could have been a fricking Paw Patrol movie instead of Oppenheimer and they still would have slapped it together to try and bring in crowds

Just look at the image you posted and you have your answer about its "authenticity"

      >Hell no, it was astroturfed from the start by the studios to try and get people back in the theaters

nah, it started off real because of the funniness of the contrast (WB put Barbie on the same day as Nolan's movie to spite him for leaving)

industry picked up on it after all the major flops

They intentionally put them on the same release schedule. They realize the contrast between the films and thought they could get people to see both by pairing them. This was a straight up disingenuous marketing stunt

Does it matter? In the end, all that box-office gold goes in to the pockets of rich white men. This was never about women or feminism. This was about the glorious Patriarchy grifting the shit out of roasties.

good marketing for the normie npc type that is susceptible to it.

actual human being here but whenever I see heavy marketing for something it has the opposite effect on me and I refuse to watch either of these flicks

Sounds like an easy way to control what you do or don't see. You sound like an easily manipulated moron not an "actual human".

Same, but I might give it a chance once the hype blows over. I like some of the capeshit movies.
Like those Spiderman movies with Andrew Garfield. Saw 'Titanic' five years ago, because I was so allergic with the Celine Dion song and DiCaprio at the time. It was everywhere.

I think Barbenheimer caught motion because both movies had huge fanbases. Barbie had the goslingbros and Oppenheimer the Nolan fanboys.
2 movies come out in the same day every weekend but you dont see thiem being hyped like this bcuz there is no fanbase to do it

the real question is how deep did the marketing go?
I'm beginning to think all the influx of goose being literally me memes on popular media have hollywood at its roots
that being said, I am still waiting for the torrents

Warner Bros got the movie in 2018. If they had Goose in mind, they could have been pushing it for years.

they spent twice as much on marketing as they did on the movie so what do you think?
